I have watched a few more episodes of Little House on the Prairie (Netflix) and it’s really growing on me! It’s quite different from the original, and I almost forget I’m watching a remake at times. I don’t remember anything about the Ingalls’ family encounter with Native Americans in the original, but it’s a big theme in this new show.
No new photos of Badger this week, so I’ll share a bird photo the hubby took in our garden.
I also wanted to share something I ran across on Goodreads this past week. I had heard about it from another blogger last year, but I thought I’d share an example so you can check your own Goodreads “Read” list. Goodreads is randomly adding “books” to your Read list, and I believe it has something to do with downloading books on NetGalley. This obviously skews your actual numbers, so do check your list to see if any of these blank books appear (they say “Author not available”), and then delete them:
Otherwise, we are still in a heat wave here, temps will be in the high 80s/low 90s all week, ugh. But at least I have a ton of good books to read!

I have two more July reviews to share this week (yes, I’m perpetually behind!). Tomorrow is my review of Sea of Charms, which was perfectly cozy. I’m currently reading Carry Me To My Grave and loving it so far! If all goes well, I will post a review on Thursday. Next up I’ll dive into my August books and read Worry Box and A Plagued Sea.

I always check every time I update a read book. I find it happens when I’m reading books on my kindle maybe? Not sure exactly why, not always with Netgalley, but any book that I’ve downloaded as even an egalley for my kindle from the author does that sometimes. Love the bird picture! Hope you have a good week, being back to work is going to get me behind on reading reviews again!
That is so weird. I know Goodreads is owned by Amazon, but what would be the point of adding extra “fake” books to your list??

Ae you saying the books that you have Read or the ones Want to Read? I look at my read books almost daily and don’t think I have seen this sot of thing.
It’s my “read” list. I checked last week and I had three of these added books! I wish i knew why it was happening.
Oh yeah I’ve had that happen to me a lot with the ‘author not available’ thing. It happens when I finish a book on Kindle. So annoying!

I have never noticed that on Goodreads! Maybe because I don’t get many ARCs from Edelweiss ?

This annoyed me so much last year when I failed my yearly read challenge, but it posted that I’d completed ten over the target. But I also record my books in a text document, so it could be worse. Still, though.

It seems that I’m also perpetually behind atm. I’m absolutely determined to get back on track though – one book at a time – and maybe less requests!

Yes, Goodreads has been doing this for a long time. But it’s easy to get rid of these fake books
LOL I’m finding out how stressful it is to host an event. I feel like I spend more time managing it than participating. I will make some changes next year:-)

Beautiful photo! Yes, I’ve learned to always check the “read” books on Goodreads. It marks books finished on Kindle as read, and then when you actually mark a book on Goodreads as finished, you end up with doubles. Sigh. I cross-check against my Storygraph numbers to make sure I’m keeping it all straight. Hope y9ou have a great week!
Thank you! I don’t understand why Goodreads doesn’t fix that issue. If I weren’t so entrenched in it, I would completely switch over to Story Graph, but I don’t think I’ll ever do that.

Yes! They came back this year too and hatched two or three babies, and now the babies are hanging around our garden:-)

Gorgeous bird pic! It’s been very hot here lately too and we’ve got rain all this week so hello mosquitos. That’s a fun idea for the TTT post this week, maybe I’ll do the same and do a horror theme.

Im glad you’re enjoying Little House On The Prairie. I’ve never seen the new or original somehow. If I get a Summer Of Horror post up this week I’ll use your spreadsheet. I’m hoping to get a horror ARC read and reviewed for Friday but I’ll have to see how it goes time wise. I have some other post ideas in mind too, I just seem very behind right now for some reason. That’s interesting, books being added to the Read list. Definitely seems a bug though it sounds like it’s been going on a while. I’m not on NetGalley but I searched my list just in case, nothing found, whew! I love the Steller’s Jay photo. We don’t have those around here, just blue jays. I did photograph a Steller’s when I visited Denver, which I found more exciting than most folks probably would. 🙂
I somehow missed this slice of your life, Tammy – that jay is absolutely gorgeous and I’m hoping the high temperatures weren’t too awful. I do enjoy the warmth, but too many people around me are suffering, particularly Himself who LOATHES the heat.
