Welcome to Future Fiction, my reimagining of the Waiting on Wednesday meme! There are so many amazing new books coming out, that I can no longer pick just one. My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. The Seventh Banisher by A.K. Larkwood. Releases in March 2027 from Tor Books. I read The Unspoken Name by Larkwood back in 2020 and loved it, and this sounds fantastic!

The Godfrey Home For Demonic Children by Alexis Henderson. Releases in May 2027 from Ace Books. I have read a few of Henderson’s books and really enjoyed them! This is an adult horror story and I love the idea of a home for children possessed by demons.
A librarian and a mage from rival kingdoms must work together to translate a magical book and lift its curse in this cozy cottagecore fantasy.
Welcome to Inglewood, a quiet village tucked into idyllic countryside. Inglewood’s librarian, Mellyd, is a shy woman who secretly writes magical wishes that she slips into each book someone borrows. These are simple charms to bless the villagers with happiness, health, and prosperity. Once, she dreamed of studying magic at university, but she’s grown comfortable in her placid life, with her tiny pet dragon and the library’s surly cat for company.
But when a stranger leaves a magical grimoire in the library, Mellyd cannot resist trying a spell from it. Just as she is doing so, Nian, a mage from the royal court of a rival kingdom, walks in and catches her. The grimoire was used to curse his king, and Nian must urgently find a way to lift that curse or else the king will die and the kingdoms’ delicate truce will be in jeopardy.
As Mellyd and Nian work together to translate the book’s mysterious spells, an attraction starts to grow between them. But pestered by nosy neighbors, a mischievous dragon, and a king so irascible it’s no wonder someone cursed him, they will need all the magic they can raise to secure a happily ever after for themselves and the world.
Wishspun by India Holton. Releases in March 2027 from Berkley. I still haven’t managed to read any of Holton’s books, but I definitely want to make time for this, it sounds so good!
