Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
Work was super slow this week, and on Thursday I thought it was Friday all day, lol. Imagine how excited I was to realize my mistake. So the week felt very long, and now of course the weekend is speeding by! At least we have lovely spring weather and all our windows are open. I hope everyone has a wonderful week, and let me know what you’re reading in the comments:-)
Upcoming reads & reviews:
I spent most of this past week reading The Girl With a Thousand Faces, and honestly, this is the kind of book you’ll want to savor. It was complex and surprising, and I’m in awe of how good Sunyi Dean is. Look for my review tomorrow! I’m currently reading Abyss, and my next two books will probably be Death’s Daughter and Strange Familiars.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday I’m diving into Wyrd & Wonder with my first list! I’ll be sharing upcoming fantasy books I’m excited for; and Wednesday is Future Fiction as usual.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Café of Infinite Doors by Zara Marielle – Review 3.5/5 stars
Top Ten Tuesday – Books With Deer on the Cover
Bodies of Work by Clay McLeod Chapman – Review 3.5/5 stars

Awww, the pic is soooo beautiful!!
Thanks Susy!
Work was not slow but we have a lovely spring too!
Enjoy your week, Sophie!
“on Thursday I thought it was Friday all day, lol. Imagine how excited I was to realize my mistake”
LOL! I would probably have sat on the floor and cried.
Badger went from snow to flowers in a minute!
Happy Wyrd and Wonder month :).
Our weather is literally going from the 40s to the 80s by the end of the week. Heat and air conditioning in one week maybe? LOL
Great pic of Badger! 🙂
Thanks Stormi:-)
Strange Familiars is on my TBR, so can’t wait to see what you think! Yeah, I often feel like Thursdays are Fridays because of how we have the early release with students on Wednesday. But then sadly, there’s another day, lol. Love the picture of Badger as always! Have a great week!
Thanks Lisa!
Urg! Fancy having that Friday feeling all day and then realising you’d have to do it allll over again tomorrow. No wonder the week stretched onto infinity! I hope you have been able to savour the weekend! That photo of Badger is wonderful – what are the yellow flowers that are currently flattering his awesome sable coat? Have a better week, Tammy!
I am going to have to ask my husband if he knows what those flowers are. I am terrible at that sort of thing! I hope you week is going well:-)
Hope you have a great week and enjoy the spring weather!
Thanks Lisa, you too!
Love the badger picture!
Thanks Bree!
We had lovely weather during the week and now a rainy day for Sunday, haha. Not that I mind, rainy days can be cosy too. Have a good week!
Our temps are jumping from the 40s to the 80s in the span of a week! Good grief.
I love finding books that make me feel the way you do about The Girl With a Thousand Faces. I want to keep reading, but I also want to take my time so I can really appreciate and enjoy each moment, so I’m ok slowing down and spreading it out over a longer time period.
And the thought of realizing Thursday ISN’T Friday? Ugh! 🙂
I wish I could find more books like that!
Nice one with Badger and the flowers. I’m listening to You Can Tell Me by Melinda Leigh and reading Out Law by Jim Butcher. We watched the Martian last night and the book is better, although we enjoyed the movie. It left out some things, not as science / techy or as humorous as the book. The ending is different but similar.
Thanks Anne. I agree, the movie of The Martian is sooo good, but the book definitely goes more into depth.
I love seeing your pics of Badger out in nature! I live in a city, and don’t get out to the wild parts of our state often, so it’s a treat to see them on your blog.
Thanks Nicole! I do miss the city at times, but it is beautiful in the mountains.
Really curious about what S.A. Barnes does with Death’s Daughter. Love when authors can write in multiple genres. Looks like Badger is enjoying spring! Hope you pick up some tremendous reads this week.
I’m going to finish Death’s Daughter today, and I’ve really enjoyed it! It’s literally the complete opposite of her space horror books.
What beautiful flowers made only prettier by Badger admiring them. I started the Girl with a Thousand Faces last night!
I can’t wait to compare notes!
Love that picture of Badger!!! I’m one book done for Wyrd and Wonder so far! Just had two DNFs in a row, unfortunately.
Thanks Jinjer!
Badger is, as always, an absolute star.
I need to think about Wyrd and Wonder. Basically I’m a disaster at the moment.
Lynn 😀
