April was a very good month for reading! My favorite book of the month was The Book Witch, and I had four 4.5 star reads too. I also managed to post ten reviews, which I’m happy about. Four of these are novellas, so that’s probably why:-) Here are the books I read and reviewed in April in order of how much I enjoyed them. My reviews are linked below if you missed them!

Glad you had a good reading month! I feel my April was a better reading month than Jan-March, and I think my story graph ratings average supports that. I really want to read the new Klune book, but I don’t want to shell out close to $30 for a shorter book. Maybe library or PangoBooks will come in clutch for that one for me…
That is a crazy price for that book, it’s so short!
Looks like an excellent reading month!
Thanks Bree!
Looks like two of my favorites are among your favorites too! I loved The Book Witch and We Burned So Bright. Sigh… I’m almost sad that I read them / finished them already!
I agree, I love that feeling at the end of a great book where you’re both happy and sad:-)
I think I gave a Morsel a 3 as well. You had a great month of reading. I finished 4 and DNF’d 2 so not so great . . .
Hopefully May will be better for you:-)
Novellas definitely help keep things moving, ahaha. Looks like a good month for reading indeed!
I don’t have as many novellas in May, so I doubt I’ll hit this number. Oh well!
I’m looking forward to so many of these!
Maybe we’ll be able to compare notes on some of them:-)
Yay for another month with great books. On to May!
Yes, May is going to be a good month too:-)
Great job. There are a few here I’d like to fit in and read.
Thanks Anne:-)
You did have a good month of reading! I’m so excited to read The Book Witch. If only my library hold of it would hurry up and come in. 😀
I hope that hold comes in, I’m very curious to get some more opinions on The Book Witch!
A lot of the books you read are on my immediate TBR. I’m glad you enjoyed all of them; it gives me hope that I’ll enjoy them, too.
I hope you do!
Great month!
Interestingly, the most recent books I read in April are not among my favorites of the month: https://wordsandpeace.com/2026/04/30/2026-april-wrap-up/
Thanks Emma!
I… haven’t read any of these . Granted, I didn’t read much in April, but I’ll make a note of them all. Pretty good month for you, eh?
It was a good month!
Ten reviews are a lot!! And it seems like your April was pretty great! I hope your May will be full of great reads too!!
Thanks Susy!
What a great reading month. April was slower for me, and I only finished seven books. I had a conference and an outing with work, so I did travel some and then a friend came in for a few days. I’m hoping to pick up the pace for May though. I see a few here I have to make time for.
Thanks Barb! I hope we both have lots of great reads this month.
So glad to hear The Book Witch was a favorite! It is on my TBR and I hope to get to it at some point. Lots of good books this past month for you. I’m still working on catching up on all your reviews. So ready for summer break and more blogging time!

I wish I had the summer off too!
It looks like another fantastic reading month overall. I’m glad we both enjoyed Japanese Gothic so much and still aren’t over how cleverly everything was tied together at the end. I hope to pick up We Burned So Bright soon and The Caretaker during your summer horror event. Ive also recently seen a gorgeous special edition of The Verdant Cage and after it won you over, despite being YA, I’m very tempted to treat myself to a copy lol
I loved The Tricky Business of Faerie Bargains and you made me add The Book Witch to my TBR!
I’m really curious to try those first two books, The Book Witch and Japanese Gothic. For my favorite I went back in time and finally got around to reading ‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King for the first time. Classic vampire tale! 🙂
Looks like April was a great month for reading! You have several on your list that I still want to pick up, but haven’t gotten to yet. (The Book Witch is at the top of that list…)
You had a great month in April. I’m hoping to get ahead in June hopefully!
Lynn 😀
