Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
This was a very stressful week at work, so I’m very glad I have a three day weekend. Anyone else out there get Martin Luther King Day off? I’m not doing much, just reading and yes, still watching Virgin River:-) I hope everyone has a good week!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
Tomorrow I’m posting my review of Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands, which was so good! And later in the week, look for my review of The Serpent and the Wings of Night. What a pleasant surprise this book was! I’m currently reading Deep Freeze which is a really good sci-fi thriller, and up next will probably be my TBR Jar read for January, Remarkably Bright Creatures.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday’s Top Ten prompt is 2024 reading goals, so stop by to see what I’m hoping to accomplish this year; Wednesday is Future Fiction as always, and I may do a Friday Face-Off on Friday, I haven’t participated in a long time and I’m feeling the itch.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Tusks of Extinction by Ray Nayler – Review 4/5 stars

I’m not surprised, they were both so good:-)
Deep freeze is what we’re dealing with here in Kansas City, lol. I’ve been able to check out your reviews quicker with all the snow days we’ve been having, lol! Hope this is a better week for you!

LOL I’m sorry your weather is so cold!
Beautiful photo! Can’t wait to hear what you think of Remarkably Bright Creatures!
Thanks Lisa! I’m excited to start it:-)
I am so happy that you loved Emily Wilde’s book!
Me too, I love when the second book is just as good as the first:-)
Though I’ll be working it I do hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable day off, especially after a stressful week. I’m curious to hear about Deep Freeze. And what a great moment with the sandhill cranes. Beautiful color, all very subtle.
Thanks Todd! I do love that pink sky behind the cranes, it’s not filtered or retouched, so I guess the sky really was that color:-)
I also loved the latest Emily Wilde adventure. And that pic of the sandhill cranes is exquisite. I hope the coming week is a good one for you, Tammy.
Thank you Sarah! Emily Wilde is such a wonderful series:-)
I just got the first Emily Wilde book from the library and I’m excited to read it! And then I’ll be excited for the next one I’m sure. I’ve also really been impatient to read Remarkably Bright Creatures and The Serpent and the Wings of Night. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the books!

Sorry your week was stressful! I work at an elementary school, and we get tomorrow off for the holiday. We were also off last Friday due to cold weather, so it turned into a 4-day weekend. No complaints here! Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

I have a three-day weekend, too, and am very happy about it! I gave my mom REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES, which is a departure from what she usually reads, and she really enjoyed it. I told her to hold on to it so I could read it haha.

I absolutely love this week’s photo, the colouring is so good and the cranes look really graceful. Now I’m off to read your Emily Wilde review 😀
I went into The Serpent and the Wings of Night with a low bar (I’m still figuring out where my interest in Fantasy Romance lies) and I had a great time with it! Looking forward to the sequel.
