Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
Not much new to report, except work is busy (as usual) and I have too many books I need to read, lol. My daughter’s birthday is next weekend, and this will be the first birthday I’ve been able to spend with her for five years, so I’m pretty excited! I hope everyone is having a good weekend:-)
Upcoming reads & reviews:
So far my September books have been excellent! This week, look for reviews of Black Sheep (amazing!!) and Starter Villain (super funny and very “Scalzi”) for sure, and if I can read it in time, I may post a review of What Kind of Mother as well. After that, it’s so hard to pick what to read next, but I think I’ll grab The Graveyard Shift.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday I’m going to recap my Summer of Horror post from the beginning of June. I almost forgot about it, but then I remember summer is over and I should do a recap! and Wednesday I have some awesome new covers to share on Future Fiction.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Friday Face-Off: Recent Reads
Schrader’s Chord by Scott Leeds – Review 4.5/5 stars
The September House by Carissa Orlando – Review 5/5 stars

Thanks, I really love that photo too:-)
Happy birthday to your daughter! How great that you get to spend it together! I’m so excited for Black Sheep and Starter Villain, can’t wait to read your reviews. 🙂 Have a great week!
Thanks Lisa, you too:-)
I hope you’re able to enjoy your daughter’s birthday this year then! With my sister living in Scotland, and before that even in NYC, we haven’t always been able to do her birthday or have her celebrate all of our birthdays in person. So I get that a little bit! I see that the new John Scalzi book will have Wil Wheaton narrating it, so it’ll probably be my purchase with my next Audible credit when it’s available. Have a good week!

One of these days I’m going to listen to a Wil Wheaton narrated book:-) Thanks Lisa, you too.
Happy birthday to your daughter! Glad you’ll be able to spend it with her. And nice work by Moses. Those distant mountains look like an island in the sea of clouds.
Thanks Todd! And I agree, that photo is so unusual:-)
Have fun celebrating your daughter’s birthday!! 🙂
Thanks Celeste!
Awwww big yay for spending your daughter’s bday with her, I’m so happy for you both! Enjoy the special time together!! and on a bookish note (lol), I started Black Sheep last night and am enjoying it so far, so I’m looking forward to your review!

I’m going to be reading your review for Black Sheep next, but yes, it was soo good! My review should be up tomorrow!
I’m glad we both loved it! (was there really any doubt?)
Hope you have a great time celebrating with your daughter 😀
Love this week’s photo, the black and white really suits it.
Thank you! I agree, sometimes black and white works so well.
That photo is so atmospheric – love it.
Enjoy your birthday get together, I imagine you’ll be able to get together much more often now that your daughter has moved closer 😀
Lynn 😀
Thanks Lynn. I just got a new puppy and my daughter was so excited she drove up on Sunday to see him:-) I love it.
How lovely to be able to celebrate a birthday together after such a long time!! I haven’t seen my son since he flew out to the States in January 2020, so I can understand how excited you must be feeling:)). And you’re right about having some excellent books lined up. I hope this week is turning out well for you – and perhaps a bit less busy at work.
