I never got on The Hatching series bandwagon for some reason (maybe it was because…spiders??) but I’m there for Boone’s next book:

The Mansion by Ezekiel Boone. Releases in December 2018 from Atria/Emily Bestler Books. I’m intrigued by the combination of the “haunted house” vibe I’m getting from the cover and the sci-fi elements of an evil computer program called Nellie. Looks like fun!
Ooooh, Nellie sounds creepy — I always have the image of Jarvis from the Iron Man movies in my head when it comes to AIs like this, and I forget there’s an entirely different side to explore with them.
This definitely sounds different than Jarvis, but anything with AIs is going to get my attention:-)
I had no idea he had a new series coming out. I loved The Hatching but do need to read the other two in the series. I love his writing and he’s such a nice guy when I’ve had contact with him. Great choice and thanks for sharing!

I didn’t care for The Hatching at all. Poor pacing, embarrassing tropes, and sexist clichés. I’m hesitant about this, but also curious. I might be willing to give him a second chance. We’ll see.
Oh no, not sexist cliches. That could be a deal breaker for me. But I’d love to try this.

I’ve also never read The Hatching series, but this sounds intriguing. I need to read more horror novels or novels with horror elements. My imagination isn’t good enough when I read to get scared.

I love haunted house stories, but I never read one where the haunting was done by an artificial intelligence, which somehow sounds far creepier than your run of the mill ghost… And far more dangerous as well! 🙂

I just never had time to read it. I guess it started strong but kind of petered out near the end.
Oh this is The Hatching guy? Ewww… I avoided those lol. But this one… with all the talk of smart houses, I love the premise!

I was super disappointed by the ending of his Hatching trilogy, but I’m still willing to give his next project a try. I’ve been keeping my eye on this one, the description could read like a haunted house story, if you know what I mean, only it’s high tech!
Yeah, it seems cool to combine the haunted house element and the high tech. I guess we’ll see!

Yep, the cover of The Hatching gave me the creeps just looking at it on a computer screen. Nope!
I didn’t read the final book of the trilogy but I didn’t hear favourable things. The first book was meh, the second better but I’ve ended up not completing. This, on the other hand I really like the sound of.
