Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
My kids both came to visit on Friday and Saturday, so it was a great weekend! I took the photo below on one of our walks, and as you can see we have a storm on the way. It’s cold here, and we may even get a little snow mixed in with the rain.
Also, I think the bots are back on my blog:-( Anybody else? Ugh, my stats are driving me crazy!
I hope everyone has a great week! Let me know what you’re reading in the comments!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
It’s been a very fantasy heavy month for me so far, lol, and if you know me at all, you know that isn’t the norm. But I’ve enjoyed most of the fantasy books I’ve read, so I’m OK with it! I recently finished The Tricky Business of Faerie Bargains and really had fun with it, look for my review tomorrow. I’m currently reading the heavily hyped The Verdant Cage and it’s really good so far! Then I’m switch gears and going back to horror for my next two books: Japanese Gothic and Bodies of Work.
Other posts this week:
I don’t have much planned this week other than reviews, but as usual, look for three new covers/books on Future Fiction this Wednesday.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
We Burned So Bright by T.J. Klune – Review 4.5/5 stars
Morsel by Carter Keane – Review 3/5 stars
Most Anticipated Books of 2026 – Second Quarter
The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer – Review 4.5/5 stars

Yay for the great weekend! And the pic is beautiful!! Here it was really warm this week but they say that temperatures should drop between today and tomorrow… We will see!
And I am glad you enjoyed The Tricky Business… I have it waiting for me and I hope to get to it soon!!
We can compare notes on The Tricky Business:-)
That’s a lovely picture! Sorry you’re having both trouble again- seems to have died down on my blog for the moment.
Thank you! The bots died down for me last month, but I’ve had a few weird days in April. Sigh.
I think they’re back to mine as well…
Ugh, I wish someone would figure out how to stop them.
Wow, that is a gorgeous photo! Yay for the kids visiting, it sounds like a perfect weekend. I want to read We Burned so Bright after you posted about it.
Thank you! I’m lucky because it’s so beautiful up here in the mountains, it’s easy to take photos.
That is a gorgeous photo! Love it.
Thank you Lark!
I’m ok with fantasy heavy. How about some scifi? Great you had the weekend with your kids, and gorgeous photo!
Thanks Anne! I don’t have much sci fi this month, for some reason.
I’m so behind on reading reviews! I’m actually kind of wondering with my new job being 4 days a week if I’ll make a routine on the Mondays to get more blogging done! Lots of great books here, can’t wait to read your reviews. Beautiful photo. Glad you were able to have some good time with your kids too!
I missed the fact that your new job is only four days a week, that is so cool!
My stats are ok so I think the bots are tired of my blog LOL
You are lucky!
Gorgeous photo! So nice that your kids were home! We’ve been having a really rainy weekend — I’m trying to squeeze in some outdoor time between downpours. 🙂 I’ve had bots a few days too — weird stat spikes that make no sense at all. Hope you have a great week!
Thank you! Yes, I can usually tell by now if it’s bots, but it’s still annoying…
Yeah, I’ve been hit hard with bots — so much so that my blog host is now activating Cloudflare for me to help my blog stay up. Bots brought it down twice this week, ugh. Such a pain. Hope you’ve not had as many troubles with that at least!
Oh no that sounds awful! I haven’t had that happen to me yet (fingers crossed). You would think that blog hosts could figure out how to prevent that from happening by now.
What a lovely photo, you’ve obviously picked up some tips from hubby. I’m glad you enjoyed your weekend with your kids.
Wishing you a happy reading week
Thank you Shelleyrae! I hope you have a lovely week too:-)
Bots have been a persistent problem for me for a long time! I don’t even check my stats anymore because they are so unreliable. That looks like a beautiful photo, I think stormy skies make for such dramatic colors. And I really need to get on my April releases, spring break really put me back!
I took on way too many April review books and now I’m paying the price, lol.
Yea, I think bots are everywhere. So glad your kids got to visit, It has been a bit warmer than usual here for this time of year but then all of a sudden, we will have a 40 or 50 degree day thrown in. My allergies are going nuts. I am really excited for Japanese Gothic and even got a signed special edition from Aardvark.
I’m about halfway through Japanese Gothic and it is so different from what I expected, but in a good way!
I was totally just checking out Bodies of Work the other day. One, because of the cover, and two, because I have this new habits of reading 2-3 novellas between each book of the WoT series.
I agree, novellas are a nice way to break up longer reads:-)
That sky is ominous – and don’t you live in a beautiful part of the world!!! As for bots – this time around I seem to have escaped, but I’ve been zapped enough times this year that my viewing stats are useless. Very annoying! I hope you’re having a lovely week, Tammy:).
I love those feelings of just before, and just after, a storm. 🙂
