Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
I’m trying to survive the dumpster fire that is the U.S. right now, and books and TV are definitely helping! I hope everyone is doing OK, despite everything. I started watching Finding Her Edge on Netflix. OMG it’s pretty bad, lol. I was hoping for a cool show that focuses on competitive figure skating, but it’s all teen drama and literally NO ice skating (and what little skating there is, it’s super far away so you can’t tell who’s skating, or just very badly faked). For someone who has been following the sport my whole adult life, it’s pretty disappointing. Sigh.
And I’m excited to start Bridgerton Season 4, but I might wait until the whole season is available. I don’t like the way Netflix splits up their shows.
It’s solo week for me, since the hubby is in Columbia trying to find Harpy Eagles (!!). Just me and Badger hanging and eating whatever we want! He’s getting some doggy ice cream later;-)
Have a great week, everyone!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
It’s February! And I have a new crop of books to read and review. This week I’ll be reviewing Nightshade & Oak and Krackle’s Last Movie, and I’ll be working on We Should Have Left Well Enough Alone and The Body for next week.
Other posts this week:
Tomorrow I’m sharing my February reading plans, so stop by for What’s On My Plate; Tuesday’s Top Ten prompt is fun, interesting typography on book covers, so I’ll definitely participate! and Wednesday I found three really exciting cover reveals to share on Future Fiction.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:

Badger is a really lucky boy!! And I am sorry that Finding Her Edge is not good!! I hope the new season of Bridgerton will make up for it!!
He is lucky! My husband takes him on long, off leash walks (which I don’t do).
I should start Nightshade & Oak! It’s on my February list.
Finding Her Edge sounds really disappointing. Bleh.
It was, and I’m afraid there’s going to be another season eventually.
Bummer, you show sucked, Hope you and Badger have a fun time together.
There are a couple of other skating shoes on that I want to try. One is a documentary so it should be good:-)
I haven’t heard of the skating show on Netflix, but I’m excited to start the next season of Bridgerton. I have an outpatient procedure coming up, so that sounds like a good time to get started on Season 4. 🙂 I hope your husband finds some Harpy Eagles to photograph!
Me too, he spent a lot of money to go on this trip, so if he doesn’t see the eagles, it will sort of be a waste of money…
Love Badger and the big stick. Lulu used to pick up sticks but decided it was boring. January was a very long month. It’s going to be a long haul to get some decency. The mid-terms will be tough to keep interference out.
Yes, it’s going to be a long year, I think. I’m just trying to read a lot and stay positive.
Yep, the US is a major dumpster fire right now sadly. And we have a politician who used to be a news anchor that I enjoyed when he was on TV but he is so far right now he is trying to get an ICE detention center built nearby. So angry about that! Isn’t Finding Her Edge based on a YA book maybe? I started Bridgerton, and I’m guessing with how I can barely stay off my phone to watch more than an hour of tv in the evenings after work, the first half will last till the next episodes come out for me. But yeah, it’s why I waited till December to resubscribe to Netflix for Stranger Things so I didn’t have to pay for that long. But then my sister got me a Netflix gift card for Christmas which was awesome because of Bridgerton. Hope you have a good week!
Oh yeah, forgot to say that picture of Badger is so awesome!
Thanks Lisa!
I should look up Finding Her Edge, I didn’t know it was a YA book, but it makes sense!
Harpy Eagles?!? I hadn’t heard of them before, so I looked them up, and OMG, they’re cute! In a big and slightly scary kind of way. 😉 Have fun with your solo time!
They are actually dangerous, but luckily they don’t like people so they won’t be close to my husband:-)
Oh no I planned on watching Finding her Edge but now I don’t think I will!
You might like it, it depends on how much you like figuring skating!
That skating show looks awful! I couldn’t resist — I already binged the new Bridgerton episodes, but it’s left me feeling super annoyed at having to wait for the remaining 4! Hope you have a agreat week!
Thanks Lisa! I will most likely fail at waiting to watch the other three Bridgerton episodes:-)
Tv definitely helps escape it for awhile. I’ve already watched the first half of the new season of Bridgerton and I’d say it’s my favorite one so far. Sophie has quickly become a favorite character. I’ve also recently gotten into watching Psych so I’ve got a new favorite there too!
I’m excited to learn more about Sophie and her backstory!
Wishing you a great week!
Thanks Lark:-)
I missed your post for Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter, so I’m going to head there now!
I loved it!
Always love seeing Badger. I agree about escaping into books. I totally get it. I am reading The Body now and will admit,25% in and I’m struggling. I had to put it down and pick up something else. I do plan on going back to it. Hope you have a wonderful week!
I started The Body last night and it just seems the story isn’t going anywhere. Sigh. I may need to put it down too, but I want to at least read 100 pages before I decide.
I’m fascinated by the notion of harpy eagles! And what lovely blue skies – it’s been drearily wet and overcast since before the weekend. Hope you’re having a great week, Tammy:)).
It’s funny you mentioning figure skating. I haven’t watched any in quite some time, but for many years I was also really into it and looked forward to each major event. I even had the chance to watch a youth figure skating performance in the old Olympic stadium in Lake Placid, New York. That was a lot of fun, and a cool town to vacation in.
Thank goodness for books right now. I’m having a hard time getting into anything on TV as of late. I am looking forward to seeing the new season of Bridgerton. Like you, I’ll probably wait until it’s all out. My husband recently binged the first three seasons. I had told him it was good so I don’t know why he’s so surprised. LOL I hope you and Badger enjoyed your solo week and your husband was able to find those Harpy Eagles. I can’t wait to read Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter. I am glad you enjoyed it.
I hope you have a good weekend, Tammy. Take care!
