Ten “New to Me” Authors I Discovered in 2025

I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog.

  1. Virginia Feito was a new to me author last year too and I’ll definitely be trying more by her in the future. I cant believe I still haven’t tried anything by Klune though. Its wonderful that you discovered lots of new authors last year. It’ll be interesting to see what other new ones 2026 leads you to.

He’s just one of those authors I never got around to reading. I definitely want to check out the wolf books at some point:-)

  2. I’m hoping to have Rozakis on my list next year because that book is on my TBR and I can’t wait to check it out. It looks so fun Klune isn’t a new author for me but I am also keen to pick up his latest—it’s been years since I read anything by him! I hope you discover more awesome new-to-you authors in 2026 🙂

Nicholas Binge has a horror novel coming out this year which I can’t wait to read (although I know you won’t be reading it!)

  3. Great list. I’ve actually read 5 of these and loved them all. I still see people reviewing Victorian Psycho and remember how much I loved that one. I also have 2 of these ready to pick up from my local library when I can dig myself out from this snow and ice – the Klune one and An Evil Premise. Wonderful choice of topic. And make sure you don’t miss Feed Your TBR tomorrow – there is a Klune book there I am sure you will want to add to your list!

  4. Witches of Dubious Origins look really good! I’ve read Klune and loved him, but I haven’t read any more books by him yet. I should catch up since he’s written so many more books now.

  5. Ooh, great list! I want to try Witches of Dubious Origins and Slayers of Old, too. (Though I’ve at least read other books by Jim C. Hines, so he won’t be a new-to-me author. And if you liked his work, you might like Kitemaster, too. I read that one last year and loved it.)

  6. J. C. Hines was one of the authors I discovered last year and I hope to read more of him soon!! And I loved, or at least highly enjoyed, every Kline’s book I read so far, so I am glad to see him here too!

  7. I also came across Caitlin Rozakis for the first time last year and she is one of my favourite discoveries. And J.C. Hines is another who’s writing I now love. I’m looking forward to seeing who I discover this year:)).

  8. Good question, I have no idea how many new to me authors I read last year. But I do know I’ve yet to try any of them you listed here, so I’ve got some work to do. 🙂
