Future Fiction #347 – Cover Reveals & Newly Discovered SFF Books

Welcome to Future Fiction, my reimagining of the Waiting on Wednesday meme! There are so many amazing new books coming out, that I can no longer pick just one. My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll find some new books to add to your TBR piles, and as always, I look forward to hearing what YOU’RE looking forward to:-D

Let’s look ahead to Spring 2026 (I mean, why not?) Here are two science fiction and one fantasy to add to your TBR:

Discover a world of enchanted contracts, faerie intrigue and French toast, in this delightful debut packed full of wit, charm, adventure and heart, with a dash of magical bureaucracy and a sprinkling of romance.

When Poppy Hill was a child, she was stolen from her family’s Montana homestead and taken ‘Otherside’ to the land of the Fae, where she spent more than a century as a cook in the Wild King’s castle. Now back in the human world, she works for a company that brokers faerie bargains, checking for loopholes in their contracts.

But when a bargain that Poppy is negotiating goes disastrously wrong, she must return to the world she grew up in to try to rectify her mistake, facing danger, intrigue and a pesky ex-boyfriend along the way.

The Tricky Business of Faerie Bargains by Reena McCarty. Releases in April 2026 from Orbit Books. I’m always up for a good cozy fae fantasy, especially when it has such a lovely cover! And is that Stonehenge I see at the bottom of the cover??

You were pure once. You can be made pure again.

Celia is so tired of being alone. All she wants is to have a family―to belong to someone. That’s why she’s going to Kindred Cove for the annual Salt Festival held by the secluded community that lives there. They promise that healing is possible. They promise that transformation is inevitable. There is no grief at Kindred Cove, because there is no suffering. Nothing is ever lost.

Celia knows that, at that mysterious island surrounded by that impossible, ever-growing reef — she will find herself.

She’s ready to be healed. She’s ready to be transformed.

She’s ready to believe.

Make Me Better by Sarah Gailey. Releases in May 2026 from Tor Books. I haven’t even read Gailey’s upcoming release yet (Spread Me) and there’s already another one on the horizon! Very excited, this sounds weird, and I want to know more about her transformation…

A romantic science fiction thriller in which a young woman from a dead-end planet gets cast on a reality TV show to compete for the hand of the prince—or princess. But not everyone is there for the right reasons…

Smart, sexy, compulsively readable and fun, this is for fans of Everina Maxwell’s Winter’s Orbit and Arkady Martine’s A Memory Called Empire

Temmi, a young trash collector stuck in a dead-end job on a garbage planet, finds herself with a golden ticket she never expected: an opportunity to compete in an intergalactic dating show starring the brother and sister heirs to the galactic empire. Twenty-four women will compete on a televised program to marry the prince and princess—and future emperors—and to win the dynasty’s favor for their home planet.

Temmi may have been hand-picked to date the quiet, bookish prince, who is immediately taken by her brash personality and their shared passion for the sciences. But she can’t seem to keep away from the princess—and even though it couldn’t be a worse idea, their chemistry is undeniable.

But when contestants start turning up dead, and conspiracies begin to swirl around anti-imperial motivations of several contestants, Temmi among them, so much more than feelings are at stake.

In fact, very few of the participants of Love Galaxy have come on the show to find love. Sexy, snarky, and revolutionary, this fast-paced thrill ride will hook lovers of reality TV, fans of thoughtful sci-fi, and anyone who lives for drama.

Love Galaxy by Sierra Branham. Releases in May 2026 from DAW Books. I love the cheesy title! And because I don’t see many sci-fi romances, I’m totally on board for this one:-)

  1. Love Galaxy sounds ridiculous, but in a good way! I’m always down for weird fictional versions of reality TV. 🙂 And YES to the new Sarah Gailey book! I haven’t read Spread Me yet either, but that’s on my list, and now I have another to look forward to! Awesome picks.

  2. They all sound great! The one that is the less appealing to me is the second one (but it still sounds interesting), but the other two sounds my cup of tea and the first one especially has a beautiful cover!!

  3. These all sound great! I love Sarah Gailey’s short pieces, so I’m really curious about her novels. And Love Galaxy sounds like it might have a poly relationship, if I’m reading that right? Which would be even more rare! I’ll have to keep my eye out for that one!

  4. awesome covers.
I’m reading a hilarious cozy (I think?) scifi, with an AI learning to know a family and adjusting to their needs, their way of thinking, of speaking. Hilarious comments on human society really. But then one day, the AI realizes something is going on in this family… I hope it gets translated into English one day. It’s called Alfie, by Christopher Bouix

  5. I’m most intrigued by the first one (it’s about the fae so I’m not surprised those) but the last sounds like it could be fun too. I’ll probably wait to see some reviews, or catch up on some other Sarah Gailey titles) before trying the middle one out. I have enjoyed a book by them in the past though and it sounds like it has potential.

  6. I’ve enjoyed a couple of Sarah Gailey’s books so I’m curious about Make Me Better. Of course, “transformation is inevitable” sounds like something with a bit deeper meaning to it… 🙂
