Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
I’m spending today with my kids, which is probably the highlight of my week:-) Today’s photo of Badger was taken by the hubby. Seriously, it looks like he’s ready to crack a few skulls, lol. In real life he doesn’t look that brutish. He really is a sweet dog! That’s really all I have, I hope everyone has a great week!
Upcoming Reads & Reviews:
I’ve jumped head first into my August books, starting with one of my most anticipated, The Dead Husband Cookbook, which I loved. Lots of twists and so many cool story elements! My review will be up tomorrow. I’ll also be reviewing a TBR Jar book later in the week, Cackle, which was a lot of fun. I’m currently reading Hemlock & Silver and The Executioners Three, and enjoying both a lot. So far so good, August!
Other posts this week:
I’m working on some ideas for a Top Ten Tuesday post, which is “genre freebie,” and I’m hoping to tie it in with Summer of Horror; Wednesday is Future Fiction, and I spotted three awesome covers on Instagram, only to find out they aren’t posted anywhere else so I can’t grab images. By the time Wednesday rolls around, I hope to have solved that problem! And Friday I’m back to my Summer of Horror Cover Love posts. I’m running out of time, and I still have lots of colors to go!
Summer of Horror Updates:

Thank you to everyone who is participating! I know three months is a long stretch for a reading event, but here are the posts I saw this week:
Barb @ Booker T’s Farm – Summer of Horror – Ghostbusters!
Lynn @ Books and Traveling With Lynn – The Friday Face-Off: Summer of Horror: Gothic
Lynn @ Books and Traveling With Lynn – Review: Another Fine Mess by Lindy Ryan
Lynn @ Books and Traveling With Lynn – Review: It Was Her House First by Cherie Priest
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
What’s On My Plate – August 2025
The Deepest Fake by Daniel Kalla – Review 3.5/5 stars

Hemlock & Silver was so fun. Kingfisher does such fascinating things with retelling fairy tales. Hope you enjoy it aaaall the way to the end!
Looking forward to your review of The Dead Husband Cookbook!
I love it so far!
Badger looks like he is taking this trip seriously and is ready to go…lol.
LOL he’s always ready to go!
I wanted to request HEMLOCK & SILVER, but I’ve been pretty good at resisting this year…I’m already behind, so it’s a good thing I didn’t request it, lol. Good to know you’re enjoying it, though.
You are much stronger than I am!
I hope you have fun with the kids! And yes Badger looks intense!
Badger has an intense face all the time, lol.
Badger looks like he’s ready to go and is tired of waiting on everyone else, lol. Lots of good books to read! A few I still need to read your reviews of! Have a good week!

So true, Anne!
I hope you have a lovely day with the children:)). And Badger is such a handsome dog!! I’m really looking forward to getting to Hemlock & Silver – it’s one of my most anticipated reads of this half of the year. Have a great week, Tammy.
Thank you Sarah! I look forward to comparing notes on Hemlock & Silver:-)
I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on Hemlock & Silver, as per usual with a T. Kingfisher book. Badger looks like he’s just ready to drive the car and waiting on you to get in hahaha he’s adorable!
LOL yes Badger does look a little impatient!
I hope Badger is a good driver! I just started Hemlock & Silver too — let’s see which of us finishes first! Hope you have a great week.
You’ll probably finish first since I keep going back and forth between two books!
The titles of your upcoming reads are quite ominous! Enjoy!
Haven’t had time and blog space to participate in the Sunday Post, hopefully back to normal next Sunday
Oh they are ominous, lol, I hadn’t noticed:-)
Impressive reading goals, as always!
Let’s see if I can accomplish them!
You will! You always do!
Hemlock & Silver might find it’s way onto my TBR list, it sounds really good.
Love this week’s pic of Badger 😀
Thank you! I’m hoping to finish Hemlock & Silver this week, I’ll let you know how it is:-)
What a great lineup this week! I just finished The Executioner’s Three recently and had fun with it, and I’m reading Hemlock & Silver right now too! Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on all of these. I definitely need to catch up on all the Summer of Horror posts I’ve missed (and many more)!. Badger looks so focused! He’s such a gorgeous dog. Hope you have a great week!
So glad to hear you had some time with your kids! That’s the kind of time that makes all the rest worth it.
I wonder where Badger is driving off to? Such a handsome fella. Glad you got to hang out with your kids. I spent Saturday doing some shopping with my Mom which was nice.
Badger looks adorable – he’s ready to get going.
