Welcome to Future Fiction, my reimagining of the Waiting on Wednesday meme! There are so many amazing new books coming out, that I can no longer pick just one. My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll find some new books to add to your TBR piles, and as always, I look forward to hearing what YOU’RE looking forward to:-D
Today’s new covers include a fantasy duology starter and two horror books, take a look:

Three sisters join the hunt for a stolen magical artefact in the start of this Gilded Age fantasy duology.
Ottilie Rushforth hides from the mighty Sorcerer’s Guild as secretary to a has-been detective. She is Entwined – threads of magic run beneath her skin, and the Guild would trap her in service.
But Ottilie has a plan to escape the Guild forever with her estranged fiancé, the enigmatic poet, soldier and smuggler Lewis Illing. All she must do is track down a mysterious artefact, claim the bounty, and leave the city forever. But Ottilie’s sisters – Pretoria, a quick-witted sorceress and thief recently emerged from exile, and Madge, a guild mage to the core, appear to make equally unwelcome offers. A new life at the cost of everything she has ever wanted, or prestige and safety in a gilded cage.
With her life on the line, Ottilie must track down the artifact in a city torn apart by prejudice and violence, and choose between the two sides of herself – the fugitive and the Entwined.
Entwined (Entwined Duology #1) by H.M. Long. Releases in March 2026 from Titan Books. I’ve enjoyed Long’s books in the past, and this new duology sounds like fun! And the cover is fantastic.

Unrelentingly scary and thrilling, Dark Is When the Devil Comes is an ambitious and chilling novel from acclaimed horror author Daisy Pearce.
The woods are known as the place to avoid. What goes in, doesn’t come out.
Hazel has been gone from her small hometown of Kawdarn in the English countryside for years. Now returned in the wake of a traumatic divorce and crumbling personal life, her simple plans are to lay low at her parents’ vacated house, reconnect with her prickly sister Cathy, and slowly get back on her feet.Cathy is surprised when Hazel doesn’t show. Their relationship strained from a fallout half a decade ago, she didn’t expect them to get back into a sisterly rhythm…though she hadn’t counted on Hazel bailing, either.
But something isn’t adding up. Other people in town whisper of a threat that can’t be shaken. The woods are known for being restless. And Cathy knows the old saying.
If you go looking for trouble, you just might find it.
Dark Is When the Devil Comes by Daisy Pearce. Releases in April 2026 from Minotaur Books. I’m in love with this creepy cover and the story sounds really good too. I haven’t read Pearce’s last book, Something in the Walls, but that’s on my TBR too.

Tilda, Ford and Neuland hit NYC to hunt a flesh-eating monster in this bloody, macabre and witty supernatural noir packed twists, turns, betrayals and showdowns. Perfect for fans of Cassandra Khaw, Nat Cassidy and Chuck Tingle.
Ford, Neuland and Tilda return home after the events of The Pale House Devil to try and make peace with the NYC crime syndicates. Then they’ll only be welcomed back if they take on a job for free – hunting down, and killing, The Flesh King, a gruesome killer who is stalking the city, leaving a macabre and bloody trail wherever he goes. Caught up in a twisted set of conspiracies and bloodletting, the monster hunters step up to do what they do best once more – take down the unstoppable evil.
The Flesh King (The Discreet Eliminators #2) by Richard Kadrey. Releases in October 2025 from Titan Books. I really enjoyed the first book in the series The Pale House Devil, and I was hoping Kadrey would continue the series!

“Three sisters join the hunt for a stolen magical artefact in the start of this Gilded Age fantasy duology.” Yes! That sounds excellent! 😀
Right? It’s going to be a must read for sure:-)
I just found out about ENTWINED yesterday & was drawn in by the cover. But the premise sounds interesting, too—can’t say I’ve read much Gilded Age fantasy.
It’s not the most common time period to find in fantasy, but I’m very curious to see how the author handles it:-)
Okay, so I’m adding both horror books to my wish list. Of course, I need to read the first in the Kadrey series first as well as There is Something in the Walls. Great picks this week!
The first Kadrey book is a novella so it’s very quick. I really enjoyed it, it’s got a cool premise.
Entwined sounds awesome! Thanks introducing me!
I can’t wait to read it!
Entwined is such a glorious cover!
Yes, it’s one of my favorites!
I love the sound of Entwined, Tammy:)).
Me too, I have a good feeling about it:-)
Okay that last books cover is just creepy.
LOL even for me it’s creepy!
Entwined sounds so good, and that cover is great.
It’s such a beautiful cover!
Entwined is the one more up my alley, and it sounds interesting! But all three of them have eye-catching covers!!
I agree, all the covers make me want to read them:-)
I definitely need Dark Is When the Devil Comes! The first one is probably a little too magical for me. The third sounds good too, but I need to read the first book! These are all new to me, so thanks for putting them on my radar!
The Richard Kadrey series is really good!
Ooh I love the cover of Entwined. I love the sound of Ashmarked by the author too but it looks like I’ve got to wait a while for that one. The Daisy Pearce book sounds interesting too. Hopefully we’ll both enjoy Something In The Walls when we get around to trying it too (its on my TBR as well)
I agree, the cover of Entwined is fantastic:-)
Entwined is calling to me – and just look at that amazing cover.
Lynn 😀
I hadn’t seen the cover for the Flesh King yet, dang I love it!
