January 2024 Reading Wrap-Up

January flew by for me, how about you? I posted ten reviews this month, and I’m very proud of that number:-) It was month with ratings all over the place, but overall I’m pretty happy with the books I read. I also read my first TBR Jar Challenge book (which ended up in the #1 spot!), so I’m off to a good start. Here are my January books, and you can click on the titles to read my reviews:

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins

Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett

The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent

Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulabelle Rock by Maud Woolf

The Tusks of Extinction by Ray Nayler

Mislaid in Parts Half-Known by Seanan McGuire

The Sanctuary by Andrew Hunter Murray

Deep Freeze by Michael C. Grumley

Your Shadow Half Remains by Sunny Moraine

How was your January? What was your favorite book of the month?

  1. You need to read Journal of an Undead: Love Stories if you really want to challenge yourself. I also loved Remarkably Bright Creatures, as a big fan of the octopus myself. Also read one called Ill Will by Dan Chaon, that was incredibly challenging, a bit much at times. But predictable, for as large a novel as it is.

  2. And I was relatively proud of getting through six books til I saw Suzy’s number lol. Glad you had a good month Tammy!! Hope the rest of the year is as productive!

I did leave a comment on one of your posts that I got a Follow It notification from you, so I’m hoping that works!

I like to read January releases in December, which I was able to do this year, so I did get ahead a bit:-)

  3. Hard to believe it’s the last day of the month. It really did fly by this year. My two favorite books read this month couldn’t be any more different from one another: Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree and Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa. Of yours I’m most interested in trying Remarkably Bright Creatures.

  4. It does feel like January went by quickly. I don’t have a fav book of the month, but it was fun rereading some of the books from the Witches subseries of the Discworld books.

  5. What a great month, I hope February is just as good for you. I read more than usual but haven’t managed to get reviews posted yet so I’m catching up a little bit 😀

I’m really surprised the TBR pick was my favorite book, I guess that’s a good case for continuing to read my own books!
