Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
And December is rushing by, just like I thought it would. Anyone else feeling the holiday stress??
In other news, I discovered a reading tracker app called Bookmory, and it creates a cool visual calendar of all the books you read each month. It’s not replacing Goodreads for me, but I love the calendar feature. Is anyone else using this? Here’s my month so far:
Recent reads & reviews:
I have one more December review book to read, Where the Dead Wait, so I may try to read it next. I recently finished The Ghosts of Beatrice Bird, which I LOVED, so look for a review tomorrow. My first January book is Mislaid in Parts Half-Known, and I’d love to knock off one of my purchased books on my list this month, and A Child Alone With Strangers is calling to me.
Other posts this week:
It’s going to be a lighter week on the blog, with probably just one review and my normal Future Fiction on Wednesday. I may throw in another post if I’m inspired!
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Hunting Moon by Susan Dennard – Review 4/5 stars
Her Second Chance Shifter by L. MacNaughton – Review 4/5 stars
Five Star Predictions for the First Half of 2024
Salt & Broom by Sharon Lynn Fisher – Review 4.5/5 stars
That is a cool tree pic! I don’t get real stressed over the holidays as it’s just Dad and I and we don’t do much but go to my Aunts house for a dinner. I am not a huge holiday person so I am always looking forward to January.
Have a great week and happy reading!

Thanks Stormi! I kind of wish I had your Christmas, it sounds nice and low key:-)
The month, and the year, are slipping by so fast it’s hard to keep up sometimes. Bookmory is new to me but it looks like a fun way to track your reading. And as always I love Moses’ photo. It works perfectly as a black and white image.
Thanks Todd! It’s one of my favorite black and white photos that he’s done lately.
I am beginning to feel the holiday stress too! And that picture of the raven in the desert is beautiful!
Thanks Sophie!
I hadn’t heard of Bookmory but the calendar feature looks great! And yes, I do feel like December is rushing by. I’m excited for a new year, but I’m also not done with this one yet!

I feel the same way, I need more time in December!
Bookmory looks cool! Hadn’t heard of it before, but I’m going to check it out. Have a great week!
Thanks Lisa, you too:-)
It won’t stop snowing, Tammy. Does that count as stress? Please come north to help me shovel:)
LOL yes that’s very stressful, poor Will…I’m on my way!
Ooh, BookMory looks cool! I downloaded it. I wonder how it does if you read more than one book in a day? Like I listen to a different audiobook in my car than the book I am reading when I’m not in the car. But I downloaded it, so I’ll try it! I’ve got to get back to your reviews, hopefully once my house guest is gone I can get more done at home.

It will “stack” the books if you’re reading more than one at a time, that’s another feature I like.
Bookmory looks interesting. How would it handle the daytime audiobook and night ebook so reading at least 2 books at once situation? December is definitely going too quickly.

It will stack up books if you’re reading more than one at a time, so it will work.
I’ve never heard of that book tracking app before, but it’s a cool idea to visually show on a calendar what books you’ve been reading. Because I have both GR and StoryGraph, I probably won’t download Bookmory, but I hope you find it useful. Have a great rest of your weekend!

I think I’ll use it just for the calendar feature, it’s pretty cool!
I am feeling the holiday stress a little although I had my first party today and we survived! 🙂 Haha it was nice actually.
Mislaid looks good, I’ve been wanting to her series.

Glad you survived your party!
Bookmory sound like a useful app. I like having a visual aid for tracking my reading.
Have a great week.

I love visual aids too:-)
I like the look of that app, might be one to try in the new year. I love this week’s photo, especially with it being black and white, it really suits it 😀

Thanks! I do like his black and white photos a lot:-)
The next few weeks are gonna be on the lighter side for me too. But I am planning some end of year posts too for the last week of December. 😀
I’m trying to pull my end of year posts together too:-)
Oh my god, the holiday stress is in full force! Haha. I’ve briefly heard of Bookmory, but don’t know much about it–I love the calendar visual. I’m really excited for all of your reviews, especially the Seanan McGuire and Ally Wilkes ones! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Thanks Jordan, you too!
Holiday stress? Yes! I will habe to look for that app. Thanks for sharing it!
It’s fun, I just have to remember to use it, lol.
This is the first time I’ve heard of Bookmory! Thanks for the heads up, sounds like something I would love since I’m so obsessive about tracking my reading 😀
It’s different from Goodreads, but easy to use.
First I’m hearing of Bookmory. I’ll have to check it out.
I’m all about the calendar feature, lol.
Not heard of bookmory before but it looks good. I’ll have to check it out.
Happy reading – love your cool pic.
Lynn 😀
Thanks Lynn:-)
