I did this tag a couple of years ago for Wyrd & Wonder, so I thought it would be fun to do it again with updated book choices. This tag was originally created by The Bookworm Dreamer, and it’s a quick fun tag. Join in if you’d like!
5 Star Book:
Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett and Our Crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert are two recent five-star fantasies. Both are very different from each other too! Emily Wilde is a delightful story about fairies, while Our Crooked Hearts has a contemporary setting with lots of horror in addition to fantasy.
Always going to Recommend:
Sort of an obvious choice! I (and many other readers) loved Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and I can’t help but choose it as my “always going to recommend” book.
Own it but haven’t read it yet:
Chlorine by Jade Song is a blend of horror and fantasy, but I’m totally counting it for this prompt because a) I just purchased a copy last weekend and b) I’m dying to read it, and so this post serves as my promise to do so:-)
Would read again:
I loved the hell out of The Shadow Glass by Josh Winning, a retro 80s romp through a fantasy world that might feel a little familiar. Josh has a new horror book coming out this summer, and I can’t wait to read it!
In another world:
Fonda Lee’s Untethered Sky takes place in a world where rocs and manticores rule the sky, and a young girl’s desire to train her very own roc leads to a wonderful bond.
Back on Earth:
Weyward by Emilia Hart takes place in our world, but the characters in this book possess subtle magic based on nature. This was such a delightful surprise!
I’ve read so many positive reviews for Fourth Wing that I have to add it to my TBR as soon as possible.
Dragons – what can go wrong with them? 😉

The dragons are very cool! I think you’d enjoy it:-)
As so often happens, I’ve not read any of these. 🙂 But I still love that cover for Untethered Sky.
Me too, it’s such a lovely cover, and fits the story perfectly.
I’m listening to Fourth Wing on audio and I’m really enjoying it so far. I’m only at chapter 7 but completely hooked! 😀

Oh good! I’m so curious about the audio.
I might have to do this tag. It always makes me happy to see Our Crooked Hearts.
Me too! You and I are its biggest fans, I think:-)
I’m dying to read Chlorine also! I’ve been super back and forth on whether or not I want to read Fourth Wing or not.. I’ll probably end up doing so sometime. This tag is fun!
Fourth Wing is great! I was a little worried but it’s very well written.
I am trying hard to fit in Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries.

It’s worth fitting in:-)
This is a fun and easy tag! I’ve done absolutely nothing special for W&W so far this year, I might have to steal this, lol.
At least you’ve read a bunch of fantasy books. I’ve read exactly one, lol.
I’m hoping I finally get around to reading Emily Wilde over the summer. The Shadow Glass is another one I think sounds really good too 😀

I LOVED The Shadow Glass, such a fun story.
I’ve treated myself to an audio edition of Fourth Wing, which I’m going to tuck into during June. I’ve only read the Emily Wilde book but I MUST get hold of something by Fonda Lee, as I’ve heard so many good things about her and I think I’d enjoy her writing.
I’m very curious to see what you think of Fourth Wing:-)
I’ve been hearing a lot about Fourth Wing but I only know her as a romance author.
