Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
My daughter—who is studying at Berklee College of Music—just released her first EP this weekend, and I’m so proud and excited for her. I’m leaving the Spotify link below as well as a sample song if you’d like to listen, and feel free to purchase a copy if you like the music!

Upcoming reviews:
Rovers was really good, but very dark and depressing. Still, I’m so glad I read it. It’s a vampire story but it’s unlike any vampire story I’ve ever read. Check out my review tomorrow! Later in the week I’ll be reviewing Tidepool by Nicole Willson. This was pretty good, and Willson really nails the weird and creepy seaside town vibe. I’ve just started Getaway by Zoje Stage and I hope to read fast and get a review up later in the week.
Upcoming reads:
I won’t be able to read all of these this week, but they are the next three books I plan on reading. Really, why should I wait to read my most anticipated books of August? Next up will be Feral Creatures, followed by My Heart is a Chainsaw and The Exiled Fleet.
Other posts:
I’m thrilled that Sharon Lynn Fisher asked me to help reveal the cover of her upcoming book, The Warrior Poet, so check back Tuesday for the reveal, an author Q&A and a giveaway! Wednesday I’ll have three new books you’ll definitely want to add to your TBR on Future Fiction, and the Friday Face-Off is “motel.”
In case you missed…
Here are my posts from last week:
What’s On My Plate – August 2021
Over-Booked [142] – A Book Haul Post
Absolute Unit by Nick Kolakowski – Review 4/5 stars
Come With Me by Ronald Malfi – Review 5/5 stars
Don’t say you can read those books this week – you never know. Sometimes things go well and sometimes not. I hope it’s a good week. It’s going to be rainy here and busy but onward to September when it should be better, I say.

Well, I know that my reading during the work week isn’t that great. I’m so tired at night I usually can only read an hour, which isn’t much to get through all of these!
Wow, she’s got an amazing voice!

Thank you! I think so too:-)
Can’t wait to see your reviews on some of these books. 🙂
I hope I can read a bunch!
I’m sure you can make a good dent in those books – especially if they’re as good as I expect them to be! I’m so looking forward to Feral Creatures and The Exiled Fleet! And thanks for the warning about Rovers. I didn’t expect it to be dark and depressing, which is not what I need right now, and I almost started it last night. Glad I didn’t now.
Yeah Rovers might not work for you. It’s BLEAK.
Can’t wait to see all these reviews in the coming week! Also, your daughter’s EP is really good! I’m listening to it while blog-hopping right now and I love it!

Awww thanks Hasini! I have been listening to it a lot too. It’s relaxing!
First off, congratulations to your daughter! As for the books, I’ll be reading your review of Rovers shortly, and I can’t wait to hear what you think about Feral Creatures. I haven’t decided for sure what I’ll read next, but Hollow Kingdom is in the running for one of my next reads. 🙂 And the only thing better than viewing photos of orioles is seeing them in person, something that doesn’t happen nearly often enough for me.
I’ve never seen an oriole in person, but my husband always gets lucky:-) He says this is the first one he’s ever seen.
Wow, your daughter is very talented! I hope you’re able to get all of your books read this week.
Thank you!
Thanks for the link for your daughter’s music – will listen to that later.
Love the photo too.
Lynn 😀
