Twelve Books with the Word “Black” in the Title

I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!

Today’s prompt is fun: books with colors in the title. I typed in the word “black” in my media library and quite a few books came up. I decided to feature all books with the word “black” in the title since I had so many to choose from. Now technically, I know black isn’t a color. But let’s just go with it, OK?

BLACK

Can you think of any other books with “black” in the title? Hint: there are tons more!

  1. I’ll add The Black Prism by Brent Weeks. I loved Sisters of the Vast Black and also really enjoyed Black City Saint. Several others here I’d like to try.

  2. Fun to see your list — I ended up going with just one color as well (blue). Besides a few of the ones already on your list, I’ve read Black Cat (Edgar Allan Poe), Black Juice (Margo Lanagan), and The Woman in Black (Susan Hill). Fun topic!

I can’t believe I still haven’t read Black City Saint! I always hear really good things about it.

  3. Ooh, I wish I’d known about this theme, I would have tried it! Maybe I’ll try it anyway and do it like one of those A-Z type challenges, but see if I can go for colors of the rainbow using my “read” shelf 😀

  4. Ooo… what a fabulous post – don’t they look PRETTY together?? The only other one I could come up with is A Blight of Blackwings – but I know there are heaps more… Love the idea of the cover montages – they do look lovely!

  5. I’m impressed that you came up with so many books with black in the title just from looking at your library. xD A couple of these are in mine, too, like Black Sun. I’m really wanting to read How Long ‘Til Black Future Month, too. And yeeees, Black Leviathan! You still need to read that, yo. 😉 I actually just lent that copy to my coworker … come to think of it, yes, we might have a problem, considering we both work in a library and yet we’re still passing personal books back and forth instead of reading the darn library books we have out already. Not the point.
