Today’s prompt is “cover freebie,” and of course I’m giving it a horror twist for Summer of Horror:-) I did another “title color” list earlier in the year, so I thought I’d share yellow titles this time, and these are all upcoming or recently released horror books. Take a look!

There are so many with yellow titles! I love the covers of A Penance for Crows, Rotten Heart, Muñeca, An Immaculate Deception and Hush Little Hauntings the most!
And Hush Little Hauntings has such a great title:-)

My friends are hounding me to read Muñeca! I think the yellow text triggers some anxiety for me, which honestly is on par for what a horror cover should be doing.
Interesting… I wonder if it’s a graphic design thing, where certain colors trigger anxiety…

I agree, yellow takes on a different meaning (other than “sunny”) when you use it for horror.
I’d never really thought about it, but the yellow really pops against all the dark backdrops!

There’s something so fitting about yellow for horror, even your Summer of Horror graphic has yellow in it! 🙂 These all look incredible together. The cover for A Deadly Blooming is gorgeous! I’m interested in reading A Penance for Crows and Rotten Heart. Daytide sounds so heavy but intriguing but I might wait to see what people think of it first!

I never noticed how yellow fonts fit horror novels so well There’s just something so creepy about a “happy” color font contrasting the usually dark backgrounds

Oohhh, these covers all look perfectly creepy! I never realized that yellow titles were so prominent on horror books, that’s so interesting and I wonder if it’s from a marketing standpoint.
I wonder that too, there are sooo many yellow horror titles!
I always find horror covers really appealing but I know I’d probably be too terrified to read them because I am weak, lol. All of these are so eye-catching!

These all look stunning together. I especially love the cover for Rottenheart and think the three titles in that row go beautifully together. I’m also adding Hush Little Hauntings to my TBR as it sounds like such a unique haunted house story and I’m intrigued.

The contrasr between the yellow and whatever the cost is is sooo alluring! Makes me want to read them all!

Yellow text is the go-to colour for horror books?? I didn’t expect that! They are all eye-catching and a tad creepy but my favourite is the Sarah Pinborough book.
