This week’s theme: “Pretty armor doesn’t make a warrior.” – A cover with armor.
This was a little tough for me, but I finally remembered The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and it turns out there are a few covers with armor! Take a look:
U.S. Ballantine Books 1984 | Italian edition 20118 | Portuguese edition 2012
Portuguese edition 2007 | Spanish edition 2017 | Portuguese edition year?
Polish edition 2010 | Polish edition 2018 | Czech edition 2001
Dutch edition 2016 | Polish edition 1994 | Russian edition 2018
Lots of Portuguese and Polish covers to choose from! The cover I like best doesn’t have armor on it, but I can’t tear my eyes away from the Dutch edition:
It’s a beautiful cover, indeed: the island rising from the mists is very evocative…. 🙂

All of these covers are pretty great but oh I absolutely love the Polish edition! ♥

I like several of the covers, but the Dutch one is my favorite. The mist makes it look mysterious, and the colors are so pretty.

I also struggled a little with this one and yet the book you’ve chosen is exactly what I had in mind and now it’s reminded me of the book that I had in mind but couldn’t remember! The once and future king!
I love your choice too.
Lynn 😀
Love all of these but I’m with you- the Dutch cover is fabulous! This is one of my favorite books of all time btw
I like the colors on the one you chose. I like the 94 Polish edition, but I don’t like how dark it is.
Love it! I have been meaning to reread this for years and all these covers are making me want to do so even sooner!
I like the cover you picked and the one beside it Polish 1994 edition. 🙂
That Dutch edition is pretty great, but I still love the 1984 US edition. 🙂
The Dutch edition is awesome, I agree. I also like the US ’84 version (probably because it’s so familiar) and the Polish 2018.

None of these are really jumping out at me, but I think the Polish edition 2018 is quite pretty!
I read this one a long while back and loved it. I’d have to pick the US Ballantine version as my favorite, perhaps out of familiarity. But I also like the style of Spanish edition.
What an interesting selection, Tammy – and your favourite is the best. Such a pretty cover… I hope you are enjoying the weekend as best as you are able:). Take care.
I loved this book and read it several times. I’m partial to the first cover as it’s the one I own.

I love the one you picked too. It’s gorgeous!
I LOVE the cover you went with, the color of it is spectacular!
Good choice on the prompt! These covers are all so different, but there’s so many gorgeous ones! I’m torn between the two Polish editions, because the main character looks so fierce on the one, but I love the scenery and setting of the other one, whcih is gorgeous! Let’s just say Poland wins this one for me, either way. 😉
I like the Polish edition 1994 best and the one you picked second best! Great choice 🙂
