Buffy’s Corner 6/21/26 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.

First of all, happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! (I’m including fur baby dads too, of course) My week was full of work, lots of birds (I leave out bird seed and suet and we have quite a nice variety!) and plugging away at my library project (I’m just about to start the Rs). The Badger photo below was taken in the early morning hours, and I think the lighting is very dramatic. I hope everyone has a great weekend and reads some good books!

Upcoming reads & reviews:

My reading is still on the slow side, and the end of June is coming faster than I want it to, but I’m trying to crank away at review books as fast as I can. Tomorrow look for my review of The Sixth Nik, which was absolutely incredible. I’m currently reading The Sun Down Motel (a recent purchase, yay!) and It Came From Neverland. Look for a review for at least one of those later this week. After that I might pick up an early July release, The Inn at the Foot of Mount Vengeance.

Other posts this week:

Tuesday I’m going to share my mid-year reading challenge progress (how can it be mid year already??) Last week was very good for cover reveals and book announcements, so stop by Future Fiction on Wednesday to see which books I’ve decided to highlight; I’d love to share some kind of Summer of Horror list on Friday (not sure yet, so stay tuned!); and Saturday I’ll share my June book haul.

Summer of Horror Updates:

Thanks to everyone who posted Summer of Horror posts this past week! If I missed your post, do leave a comment and let me know, and I’ll add it to next week’s list. I’m trying to catch them all! I appreciate all your excitement and hard work:-) *I was bad this week about keeping track of posts, so apologies if I missed any!

  1. Im glad to hear The Sixth Nik was a hit and look forward to reading your review, cant wait to hear what you think of the other three books either, all of those are on my TBR. I’m especially excited to see that you’ve decided to go for The Sun Down Motel after all too.

Thanks for sharing my post and I look forward to seeing all the content you have planned for next week, sounds exciting.

That photo of Badger is lovely too. Hope you have a wonderful week.

  2. Definitely a very cool picture of Badger! I’m slowly getting around to reading reviews, but not caught up! With my houseguest I get less time than normal blogging if Argyle doesn’t want to play with him. I can only get him to lay down if I’m sitting on the couch with them all. I don’t know if I’ll do a mid-year reading challenge check in since I tend to do that every month in my wrap-up post. But maybe I should try that and cut back how long my monthly posts are? lol. Hope you have a good week!

I think it’s better to do a monthly challenge like you do. I honestly struggle to catch up with six months of reading!

  3. Thanks for linking the posts – that way I’m reminded to visit everyone. Glad the event is going so well. We had DOWNPOURS early Thursday morning. So bad that half our city had major flooding when it rarely happens. Of course, if the city would focus on the drainage problem it might not be so bad. Badger is looking very mystical with that background.

  4. I always enjoy watching which birds prefer seed and which suet, which is one reason it’s great to have both. 🙂 That is a beautiful photo of Badger, almost surreal with that lighting.

  5. Busy busy busy. This is how I feel too. And our daughter comes to visit next week so I’ll still probably be catching up.
    Look at Badger, love him.
    Lynn 😀

  6. I wasn’t able to figure out if I could do summer of horror but as it turns out, most of what I’ve read so far this summer is horror, lol. It’s become my favorite genre these days and just what I reach for.
