Welcome to Future Fiction, my reimagining of the Waiting on Wednesday meme! There are so many amazing new books coming out, that I can no longer pick just one. My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll find some new books to add to your TBR piles, and as always, I look forward to hearing what YOU’RE looking forward to:-D
Today I have a popular author’s first venture into speculative fiction, another entry in a fun sci-fi series, and a Gothic tale set in Ireland, take a look:

Chuck Palahniuk’s first forray into science fiction, following a young man searching through old scifi pulp magazines for clues to find the father who disappeared into space years ago.
On Earth, a young man named Grunt is searching for his father, a writer it seems has vanished off the face of the planet. But Grunt is convinced his father left behind clues in his writing. In a pulp magazine called Rockets Ho!!, Grunt discovers a curious series–Welcome2 Homestead1–that is out of this world, but something about it hits very close to home. Maybe Grunt has always been destined for bigger things.
Homestead1 is perfect, where everyone is beautiful, fit, and smart. Where Bradbury9 and Ursula6 do calisthenics by the Fountain of Authors and children hop on the bus for field trips back to the home planet, gleefully learning to kill Earthlings. But when Tomisina8 goes missing on one of the field trips, Homestead1’s facade begins to crack.
As Grunt creeps ever closer to finding his dad, and the leaders of Homestead1 frantically search for their missing colonist, things take a turn revealing that sometimes the facts are stranger than fiction.
Galleria by Chuck Palahniuk. Releases in January 2027 from Saga Press. It’s been years since I’ve read a Palahniuk book, and apparently this is the author’s first foray into science fiction. This story sounds crazy! What do you think? Would you try this?

Becky Chambers meets Miss Marple in the third entry of this cozy sci-fi mystery series, helmed by a formidable no-nonsense auntie of a detective.
As the Fairweather approaches the halfway point of its journey, Dorothy Gentleman may have reached the end of hers…
It’s been a long lifetime, and Dorothy’s current body is on its last legs. With a new terminal diagnosis from Medical, she’s counting the days until her next reembodiment. But then a young man with someone else’s face sits down and claims he is Dorothy’s next embodiment ― someone has triggered the system early, using the memory-book Dorothy last updated over a month ago.
Meaning that according to the laws, when Dorothy dies this time ― it will be permanent.
Now Dorothy and her doppelganger must sift through that last month of memories, looking for a secret someone’s trying to erase. And all the threads lead back to the very first murder that happened on the Fairweather, five hundred years ago. A case which remains unsolved ― and in which Dorothy was a witness, not a detective. All while an old enemy finally dares to step out of the shadows…
The Double Dorothy (Dorothy Gentleman #3) by Olivia Waite. Releases in March 2027 from Tordotcom. I love this series! And this installment sounds so good, I can’t wait:-)

In this lush, gripping Gothic novel set in 18th century Ireland, a young woman on the run from her past goes undercover within the infamous Hellfire Club, a remote lodge mired in rumors of Devil-worship and depravity . . .
Charlotte “Lotty” Boyle fled to Dublin to escape the clutches of a powerful duke. She’s found some measure of protection working as the accountant for Dorcas Kelly—the city’s most notorious brothel keeper. But now, with the duke hot on her heels, Lotty needs another refuge, and Dorcas has just the place in mind.
Dorcas wants Lotty to act as her spy while posing as a servant at the Hellfire Club. The very name evokes a strange dread. Nestled deep in the mountains, the old hunting lodge is rented out for secret meetings where rakish gentlemen indulge their tastes for debauchery. But from the moment she arrives, Lotty senses more at play here than human vices. The locals talk of banshees and forest spirits, and in her nightmares, Lotty is visited by a púca—a terrifying shapeshifter of Irish folklore.
It is said that those who flock to the Hellfire Club dabble in satanic rituals and sacrifices. What those men don’t know, and what Lotty begins to understand, is that something far more ancient sleeps beneath the lodge—an elemental power unafraid to wage war with the Devil himself. Now, as dark magics collide, that power will awaken, eager to appease its vengeance at any price . . .
Beneath, It Sleeps by Maria Tureaud. Releases in January 2027 from Kensington Books. I love the idea of an 18th century Ireland setting, and being described as Gothic makes this even more appealing!

I think I need to start Olivia Waite’s books soon.
