Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
This week I’m sharing a photo my husband took recently instead of a Badger photo (don’t worry, he’ll be back next week!) He found the only grove of Coastal Redwoods in Southern California and decided to tackle them. They are much smaller than the famous Redwoods in Northern California, so easier to photograph.
We’re having absolutely lovely weather. Nice and cool at night, 70s during the day, you couldn’t ask for better weather. Spring is springing all over the place too! Once of my favorite mountain flowers is the lilac, and it seems they might be blooming early this year. I will try to get some photos for next week.
I also wanted to mention that Wyrd & Wonder is back for another year, coming in May! This is a fun month long fantasy event that I always try to participate in. Click on the banner below to learn more!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
This week I’m finishing up March and starting on April! Well, technically not finishing up March because I still have a few March releases left on my pile. Tomorrow look for my review of Nothing Tastes As Good, this book was crazy! I’m currently working on The Geomagician and enjoying it a lot. Hopefully I can review it later in the week. Then I’m diving into some April books, starting with my most anticipated book, The Caretaker. After that, I’ll probably read The Tricky Business of Faerie Bargains.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday is the last day of March, so I’m sharing my March Reading Wrap-Up; Wednesday is Future Fiction, so look for three new cover reveals! And Thursday we’re diving into April, so stop by to see What’s On My Plate.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Cellar Below the Cellar by Ivy Grimes – Review 3.5/5 stars
A Widow’s Charm by Caitlyn Paxson – Review 5/5 stars

Very curious to see your reviews of Nothing Tastes As Good and The Geomagician!
That photo is gorgeous.
Thank you! Hopefully I’ll have both reviews up this week.
I am curious about the Caretaker, hope it’s fun. That is a cool tree pic!
Thanks Stormi!
Beautiful photo!
Thank you!
Beautiful Redwood photo! I am jealous of the 70 degree weather as we keep having either cold or then into the 90s already! The Cellar Below the Cellar sounds interesting. Hope you have a good week!
Thanks Lisa! Yes, your weather sounds crazy!
Lilacs are a favorite of mine too. Ours has just started to bloom. I hope you continue that nice weather. Ours is still in crazytown with 30+ degree swings in the high.
Ours is getting cooler this week, but I’m OK with it:-)
What a very atmospheric photo! We did have temperatures in the high 60s a couple of weeks ago, but we’re enduring a north-easterly wind that has brought the temp down to the low 50s and with the wind chill, it feels colder than that. I’m hoping we’ll have some sunny Spring weather over the Easter holidays. Have a great week, Tammy.
Thanks Sarah! Good luck with that Spring weather:-)
I adore lilac! I have a tree in my garden! Also I am reading The tricky business of faerie bargain at the moment!
We will have to compare notes on it:-)
Wow, gorgeous photo! Looking forward to your upcoming reviews!
Thanks Lisa!
Sadly I didn’t love The Geomagician, I enjoyed a Widows Charm more.
I might join Wyrd and Wonder this year, thanks for the heads up
I’m in the middle of The Geomagician and so far I really like it, but it is a bit slow.
Glad to hear you’re getting some great weather lately. Here’s hoping it continues, and that you find plenty 0f lilacs.
Thanks Todd! I just saw the lilacs in our yard started blooming today:-)
Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Bree!
I received an eARC of “The Caretaker,” too. I’m curious to read your thoughts of the book! I hope it’s enjoyable!
Me too! I loved his last book, so fingers crossed:-)
Yay for nice weather, and that tree pic is awesome! I mean, I love me some Badger, but that’s a pretty great substitute LOL.
Well, I need to give Badger a break now and then, and I really wanted to show the tree photo, it’s so haunting!
That photo is gorgeous! Your weather sounds so nice. I’ve been wearing my winter coat still over here. Enjoy your week and the books, the fantasy reading event sounds like fun.
Thank you! I hope your weather turns warmer soon:-)
I love that picture and it would be awesome blown up on a canvas and hanging behind a couch – my couch – haha. I’m glad you are having great weather. We are either hot or cold – no in between.
That Redwood pic is stunning. I love it.
We’re also having lovely weather and it’s so nice – but I’ve been over the top busy, behind with reading and blogging! Oh well, you can’t do everything I suppose.
Lynn 😀
