Buffy’s Corner 2/22/26 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.

We got a series of big storms during the past week, resulting in about 18″ of snow up at my house. My car was blocked in all week because of the dreaded berm! But we finally had someone come and plow our driveway. Now our town is inundated with “snow players,” lol, all parking illegally and making it impossible to go anywhere. At least temps are going up next week so the snow should melt fairly quickly.

Upcoming reads & reviews:

I pushed hard last week and got up three reviews, and I’m hoping to get two more up by the end of the month. I’m currently reading Dead First, and it’s very unusual! I’m not sure where it’s going, but I’m excited to find out. I’ve also started making my way through The Rise, which is a purchase. I adore Alan Baxter’s Tales from the Gulp, and this is five more creepy tales set in the fictional Australian town of Gulpepper. Next, I will probably pick up one of my last February releases, The Red Winter, and after that I will most likely dive into my March books, starting with Nobody’s Baby.

Other posts this week:

It’s almost the end of the month, which means I have a few “end of the month” posts coming up! On Wednesday, check out Future Fiction as usual; Friday I’ll share my February book haul; and Saturday is my February Reading Wrap-Up post. The other days are reserved for reviews if I can get my act together:-)

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

Dollface by Lindy Ryan – Review 4/5 stars

Nowhere Burning by Catriona Ward – Review 4/5 stars

Future Fiction #370

A Forest, Darkly by A.G. Slatter – Review 5/5 stars

  1. I like the theory of so much snow, but I bet it’s just an annoyance most of the time when it’s common for you and you get so much!

Ahhh, Nobody’s Baby — I wish I had a review copy! I have autoapproval from Tor on Netgalley, but it doesn’t seem to have ever popped up there. I’ll have to preorder it.

LOL. Yes, Badger is at home in the snow, he just loves the cold. It’s hard for him during the summer.

  2. Badger always looks cool. That’s alot of snow, I hope it melts soon. We’re having a blizzard coming through today into tomorrow here. I am looking forward to the spring!

  3. I saw on the news about California getting a bunch of snow and I wondered if it was where you lived, and I guess it was! That is a LOT of snow! I’m guessing Badger doesn’t mind it? I do always hate how people use snow as an excuse to park worse than normal, lol. Here’s hoping you get a lot of that snow melted this week and have a good week as well!

  4. So glad to see Badger enjoying the snow, someone has to. It’s pretty but I think I’m done with winter and it’s only February. Good thing I’m not in Minnesota anymore. We got that kind of snow in April even.

It is pretty when you’re inside and don’t have to go anywhere. I’m also looking forward to Spring!

Yes, he loves the snow! I think big dogs love it, and little dogs are probably worried about getting lost in it, lol.

Badger LOVES the snow! And the cold in general. He could lie out in the snow all day and not feel the cold at all, lol.

  5. That amount of snow always looks so beautiful as it’s falling and just freshly fallen, but it can certainly make getting around difficult. Ours has now completely melted except for the remains of piles here and there. But right now the falling rain is beginning to show a few snowflakes here and there and it’s supposed to completely transition to all snow as night falls. Granted, we’re only supposed to get 1-3 inches, not 18+! 🙂

  6. We were watching the Olympic Highlights last night and my son asked some questions about the biathlon event so I looked them up and learnt that the first time the sport was introduced to the Winter Olympics was at the 1964 games held in California. Both he and my husband were surprised it snowed in California but I knew it did from your posts, LOL.
Anyway I hope the temps warm up for you

Wishing you a great reading week

Oh wow, now I need to look up what city in California those games were held! Most of California is desert, lol. Just the mountain areas get snow. I hope you have a great week too:-)

  7. Oh my giddy aunt look at all that snow. I bet Badger loved it.
All the best with your reading and reviewing plans this week. I’m hoping to post two reviews at least.
    Lynn 😀

  8. Blimey – what a lot of snow! And thank goodness you have it and I don’t!! I love how it looks as it falls and then begin hating it very soon after. Especially as it turns to mucky, slippery slush here that hangs about and looks awful and makes it hazardous to go anywhere. Hoping the coming week sees it gone, Tammy.

  9. That is a lot of snow. Does Badger love playing in it? My boys love fluffy snow but are not a fan of icy, crunchy snow which is what we last had. I’m ready for summer. Looking forward to your reviews!
