Buffy’s Corner 12/14/25 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.

I can’t believe it’s only a week and a half until Christmas. I’m wrapping presents this weekend, so maybe I’ll be done early this year! My daughter has been in Asia for the past three weeks, touring with Luna Li, and before that she was on tour with Leith Ross for five weeks, so I haven’t seen her in a while! I’m so excited to see both kids for the holidays:-)

I hope everyone has a great week!

Upcoming reads & reviews:

I’m taking full advantage of December mood reading, which means I might not post any reviews this week. And 2026 is starting out great as far as books go! This past week I finished The Storm, which I loved. And I’m currently reading A Box Full of Darkness, which I’m loving even more! Both are January releases so I won’t post reviews until next month. I may try to read Good Boy, which I bought a few months ago. The author is a horror podcaster who I follow on Instagram, and I’ve heard amazing things about it. I also just accepted a self-published book for review, which I rarely do, but something about the author’s pitch made me say yes. Another One Bites the Past is about AI and 80s rock bands, I mean come on! This is a novella and I may just squeeze it in this week.

Other posts this week:

I’m not sure what will happen on the blog this week! Look for Future Fiction on Wednesday for sure, and hopefully I’ll be inspired to post something else.

In case you missed:

  1. AW, sloth friend! Sam is going to love this one LOL.

Your daughter is living the life! Glad you’ll get to have both your kids around for the holidays.

Another One Bites the Past sounds awesome!

  2. Aww, nice photo. I rarely accept self-published stuff too: I know there’s amazing stuff out there, but it’s hard already to keep up with mainstream stuff! So I usually focus on recommendations from friends.

  3. I am so happy that your daughter is successful and that after Ben Barnes she is still touring! Good luck wrapping presents Tammy. I must buy wrapping paper LOL

  4. Love Badger and his buddy. You have things in hand for the holidays. Great you will have your kids with you. I have no clue what I am doing about some things for the holidays. It’s been more dog planning than people planning stuff..

  5. Awwww! Badger is so sweet holding his friend! My posts have been slower, reviews especially, since I’m saving them all for one big wrap-up post for the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon. But that will be this week! I need to get back into some other books since I’ve met my goal for that. Your daughter is getting to do so many cool things now! Love that! Hope you have a good week. I’ve wrapped all the gifts I have, just waiting on a couple more as well as some gift cards I’ll buy and I’ll wrap them up so people still have something to open.

  6. I need to wrap presents this week too. Though first I have to get the tree up 🙂
I’m going to read Snake-Eater for the Speccy Challenge next year, and I’ve just added Another One Bites the Past to my inspiration list for novellas because what Gen Xer could resist!

    Wishing you a wonderful week

You will definitely appreciate that a certain famous band is front and center in Another One Bites the Past:-)

  7. I’m still very behind with my Christmas organisation – but that seems to be the norm these days. But I’m beginning to look forward to seeing the family and having the boys both together again. The house is always more cheerful when Ethan is back. And that photo of Badger is adorable:)).

I know, so sweet, right? He usually tears up his toys, so it was nice to capture this moment. Unfortunately, soon after he tore both arms off the sloth!
