Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
Today I have a photo my hubby took this week of the Super Moon, it’s pretty cool! It’s not manipulated in any way, and if I knew anything about photography I could tell you more, but I don’t, lol. Moon. Pretty.
It was a rough week at work. We changed over to a new order processing system called Business Central, and I don’t like it at all. I guess in time I’ll get used to it, but my big question is why did we have to change? The other system was working just fine. Sigh.
Otherwise it was a normal week, the weather is just perfect right now, and my mini vacation is in about two weeks, so I’m looking forward to having the whole week of Thanksgiving off work. I hope everyone has a great week and reads some good books!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
It was a rather slow reading week, simply because with all the stress at work, my brain was fried at the end of the day. Cue mindless phone scrolling instead of reading, lol. I will have two reviews posted this week, though. Tomorrow, look for my thoughts on The Devouring Light (fun and suspenseful but the main character is so DUMB) and later in the week, I should be able to review Witches of Dubious Origin, which is light and fun with a bit of romance thrown in. After that I have SO many things I need to read, but I’d like to tackle two of my bigger November releases, The Blackfire Blade and Outlaw Planet.
Other posts this week:
I’m very excited to share my first #scifimonth2025 list on Tuesday: 26 Science Fiction Books to Read in 2026. My 2025 version (posted last November) is one of my highest viewed posts of the year, and I think for the most part folks are more excited about science fiction than horror;-) Wednesday I have three new covers to share on Future Fiction; and Friday I hope to post another Friday Fives list for Scifi Month.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Friday Fives: The Journey Not the Destination
The Sound of the Dark by Daniel Church – Blog Tour Review 4/5 stars
The Place Where They Buried Your Heart by Christina Henry – Review 5/5 stars

Wow!! The pic is sooooo beautiful!! And I feel you! Changes at work are always difficult, especially when they change something that works!! Argh!!
Books wise I am curious to read your review of A Witch Of Dubious Origins, and your thoughts on The Blackfire Blade. I have thoughts on this last one, a lot of them!!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on The Blackfire Blade!
You are right, Moon. Pretty. (But tell hubby I’m impressed with the long exposure )
It definitely sounds like you need a break, I hope the next fortnight flies by.
Wishing you a happy reading week
Thanks Shelleyrae!
That pic is very cool! Hope you get use to the new business thing quickly, I don’t like change like that when it doesn’t seem necessary.
The new program is getting easier, but it’s not really tailored to what I do so to me it’s always going to be harder than our last program.
That pic !!! Take it and shove it, AI people!
With the evolving of technology, there are always changes that we can’t understand the purpose of…and sometimes it’s just a matter of “the powers that be bought a new program because it was cheaper” LOL. I’m the “don’t fix it if it’s not broken” camp, but alas.
Looking forward to comparing reviews for The Devouring Light!
I have a feeling the decision to change programs was money based. Sigh.
Wow that photo is amazing!!!!
I really want to read Witches of Dubious Origin! It looks so good!
It was very good!
I’m sorry work is tough. The new program probably has AI capabilities. UGH. Ooo Moon Pretty! exactly. I look forward to the SciFi month lists.
My boss has already mentioned using ChatGP which I refuse to use.
Gotta love those enterprise-level software changes. I feel your pain. I always look forward to seeing what Moses is creating next. Beautiful photo. Looks like a roadway along the tree line with the white and reddish light trails as cars drive by. Really nicely done, great detail in that moon. I hope these coming weeks are much more enjoyable for you!
He definitely planned to get those car tail/headlights in the photo!
That moon picture is gorgeous! That’s great you’ll get Thanksgiving week off work.
Thank you! I am so excited to have a week off work!
That moon picture is beautiful! It figures your husband would know how to get it to look so good! Whenever I try to take a picture of what I think is a big moon with my phone, it ends up as a tiny little dot and doesn’t look good or even close to what I think I’m seeing, lol. I’m so far behind on commenting and you have so many book reviews I need to read! I hope you have a good week. Our tech people switched programs that they keep track of the laptops being checked out, and while there were some issues with using my library system, this new system is so user UNfriendly that I hate it when the other system actually worked just fine! lol

Yeah, I wish the tech department would just stop changing things, lol. Hope your week is a good one!
That’s a great pic!
Hope you have a better week this week! Work fried me this week too, but hopefully next week will be better.
Thanks Nicky! I hope both our work weeks are better than last week.
Wow, that’s an incredible photo!! I hope work gets better… mine is stressful too. 🙁 Looking forward to your next reviews! Witches of Dubious Origin sounds like fun!
Hoping to get my Witches of Dubious Origin review up tomorrow. It was fun!
That’s an absolutely stunning photo of the moon! The purple is cool.
Thanks Celeste! I see his photos all the time and even I’m impressed with this one:-)
I wanted to take a picture of the super moon but I am nowhere as gifted as your husband Tammy and that ended up being very underwhelming! I hope you will get used to the new system at work. Change can be so hard!
He does have a $13K lens that he used for this photo, so it’s hard to compete with that!
Such a lovely moon picture! New work systems always feel like the worst.
Thank you!
I hope this week gets easier. I know new updates on software or websites are always unnecessary complicated!!
Everything worked so well with the last system, to me it doesn’t make sense! Based on my company though, I’m pretty sure it has to do with money.
Moon very pretty. Hope you are able to adjust to that new system soon (sounds like an unnecessary implementation). My reading has been very slow this past week too, maybe we pushed ourselves too much in October. I hope your week turns out great!
Thanks Alicia! The new system is already better, so I guess it’s just a matter of practice and repetition.
That picture is so cool and so well done. Your husband has such talent. It has been snowing here all morning but not accumulating much. Seems too early for our first snow. I work for the state and they randomly like to switch between Microsoft and Google every few years and it drives me nuts! I think they just do it to drive people mad. Hope your work week is better!
Thanks Barb! We have a huge rainstorm coming starting tomorrow, and it’s supposed to last for five days. I know we need it, but not really looking forward to that much rain.
I don’t mind change – except when it feels like ‘change just for the sake of it’. Hope you pick that new system up soon.
The picture of the moon is amazing, your husband is so talented.
Phone scrolling – I know that feeling, the past month I’ve wasted so much time doing just that, like I’ve fallen into a black hole and can’t get out!
Lynn 😀
Changes suck, right? But I’m also counting down the days to Thanksgiving, and to a well deserved break, lol. Lovely photo of the super moon!
