Buffy’s Corner 9/7/25 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.

My blog issues have returned, even after another useless round with the Bluehost support team (seriously, they are the worst). But I’m happy to say I’ll be moving my blog to a new host soon, and I feel pretty good about it (more details later, just in case it falls through). In the meantime, blogging has become something I dread. I can only access my dashboard about fifty percent of the time so I’m literally stressed out every time I need to post something. But hopefully things will be better soon! So you may see fewer posts in the coming weeks. Luckily, I don’t have anything big planned for September except getting as many reviews up as possible.

On a bright note, I saw this rotating book tower on Instagram and immediately bought one! I love it. I bought mine from Amazon, but you can also buy directly through the company. I have barely started filling it up, and I’m going to use it as an ARC TBR.

Upcoming reads & reviews:

This week I’ll be posting reviews of A Honeymoon of Grave Consequence (delightful!) and Breathe In, Bleed Out (an excellent slasher!). Up next I may try to fit in something short like Sunward and then I’m diving into Play Nice.

Other posts this week:

Other than Future Fiction on Wednesday, I’ll be focusing on reviews this week.

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

An Evil Premise by T. Marie Vandelly – Review 4.5/5 stars

Future Fiction #347

How Bad Things Can Get by Darcy Coates – Review 4.5/5 stars

What’s On My Plate – September 2025

Hope to see you around the blogosphere:-D

Thanks Rebecca! The bookcase is a lot of fun. I’ve been walking by it all day and each time I have to give it a spin, lol.

  1. Ooh, I like the rotating bookcase. I’ve been tempted by something similar, but I’m not sure what I’d put on it, so I’ve refrained for now. Maybe when I start running out of shelf space again…

The blog issues sound so annoying. I’ve had a few problems lately, but a coworker/friend hosts mine, and he’s always super on the ball about fixing stuff. I’m glad I don’t have to wrangle it myself. Good luck!

    • Tammy

You are very lucky to have a computer friend to help you. I can’t wrangle anything computer related either!

  2. Blog problems are the worst. I hope you can get the new host, and it helps. That bookshelf thing is cool!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  3. I hope your new host will be more reliable, and the transition will be fast and smooth! I love the tower. Poor Badger looks thirsty but still majestic ;).

Thanks Roberta! We always carry water for Badger when we hike, so he’s fine. Seriously, we baby that dog:-)

  4. Grrrr…. I wish you well with your blog issues and hope you make a quick and successful migration. That bookshelf is really cool… I’m tempted. Might fit nicely in a corner and would get some of my books off the floor. 🙂

    • Tammy

The size I bought, which has 5 tiers, can supposedly hold over 100 books. And it takes up about as much space as a floor lamp:-)

  5. I had noticed some issues when I went to your blog this week, so wondered if you were in the process of moving or just having more problems. Fingers crossed it works out for you! I love that shelf! I’ve been thinking of something like that. I added that one to my Amazon wishlist. Hope this is a good week and that you get some things figured out with your blog issues. Also, love the picture of Badger!

  6. I am sorry that you experience all these problems with the blog! That was me three years ago and I decided to change host. It’s way more expensive but so far (I hope I won’t jinx it) it runs like a dream so it’s worth every penny! Good luck with your new solution.

    • Tammy

I am sorry for all the glitches!! It’s frustrating knowing my friends are having issues with my blog. But hopefully the switch to a new host will clear things up:-) Thank you Sarah:-)

  7. I’m sorry about your blog issues! 🙁 I use GreenGeeks and the support from them when needed has been pretty good (knock and wood). Hope everything works out with your new host!
That spinning bookshelf looks like a sweet idea! I love that there’s a gold color, which goes with my lamps and side tables where I read…might consider it!
And did you get a galley of the other Sarah Gailey book…Spread Me I think it’s called? That one looks so interesting. I think I’ve decided no more ARCs for the rest of the year (sans newsletter emails), otherwise I would’ve seriously contemplated requesting it.

    • Tammy

I requested an ARC of Spread Me but haven’t received it, but I also downloaded the NetGalley copy as well. I’m hoping Tor sends me a finished copy at least! And I know what you mean, this is the time of year I also back way off on accepting ARCs, unless they are for 2026.

Yes, get the bookshelf, it’s so cool! I’m already plotting where I can put a second one, lol. It reminds me of those paperback racks you see in used bookstores, although this one’s nicer.

  8. I love the bookshelf, I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had somewhere to put it, I’ve so completely run out of room that I’ve had to box up about 200 books and stash them under my bed until one of the kids finally move out and I can have a library!

I hope your blog issues are resolved asap, wishing you a happy reading week

  9. I’m sorry the blog issues are back, but hopefully they get resolved soon and without any additional headaches.

Oh, I’m glad to see you enjoyed Burgis’ newest! I’m looking forward to getting started on that one soon. (Hopefully.)

  10. Sorry you have been having issues with the blog still. I had a few problems visiting this week too so suspected something was going on. I love that book tower and that seems like a perfect use for it. Look at Badger looking all handsome again!

  11. Luckily I’ve run out of space in my apartment, or I’d need to get that rotating bookcase too. So cool!
Sorry you’re still experiencing blog probs. THat must be frustrating.
