July 2025 Reading Wrap-Up

July went by WAY too fast and I didn’t get to everything I wanted to read. Still, I had a very good month and enjoyed everything I read. My favorites of the month were It Was Her House First and Angel Down, two books that couldn’t be more different from each other, lol. Here are the books I reviewed in July, with links to my reviews:

Angel Down by Daniel Kraus

It Was Her House First by Cherie Priest

The Library at Hellebore by Cassandra Khaw

The Palace of Illusions by Rowenna Miller

An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating by Cecilia Edward

The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

The Irresistible Urge to Fall For Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley

The Deepest Fake by Daniel Kalla

What was your favorite book of July?

  1. July really flew by! I just wrote my review for Friday and while I was writing it I realised that it will be online on August. I was shocked!!
But that aside, you had an amazing month!!! *_* Mine was pretty good, but I have yet to decide which book will win the “best book of the month” prize. That said, I read a lot of good books, too!! (And I should find the time to write my recap too, but that’s another story!! 😉 )

  2. You’ve had a really good July, Tammy:). A wide range of books and enjoyable reading experiences. My favourite book of the month has to be Direct Descendant. I love the contrast with the cosy, small-town feel and the constant lurking terror that would kill you for leaving your bedroom window open at night.

  3. I got THE IRRESISTIBLE URGE TO FALL FOR YOUR ENEMY in the mail yesterday from Illumicrate and it’s absolutely stunning (& I already liked the regular edition cover). Looking forward to reading it, but disappointed that the publishers chose to really go hard and market it as HP fanfic.

  4. A lot of good books here. Some remain on my TBR (sadly). July kind of became a mood reading month for me but I did get 4 arcs read so I’m calling it a win. Glad you had a great month!

  5. Ooh, I think I must have missed your review of the Cherie Priest books while I was away! So glad to see it get such high ratings — I’ve enjoyed a bunch of her books in the past, but this one wasn’t on my reading radar!

  6. It looks like you got to a lovely mix of books during July. I remember you review for The Palace Of Illusions really intriguing me. I’ll definitely be checking that book out sometime. Hellebore I’m still somewhat unsure of due to the extreme sounding gore lol.

My favourite was either We Have Always Lived In The Castle or A Natural History Of Dragons. I utterly adored both and was really surprised by the first as I’m never sure how I’ll get on with classics.

  7. Great reading in July. I can’t believe it’s ending. But I finished a book today and maybe another one yet tonight. We’ll see.

Anne – Books of My Heart

  8. It’s awesome to see some of your favorite books being so different from one another. I thoroughly enjoy trying very different books and often I find them right here. 🙂
