Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
I’ll keep things short this week: work was extremely busy and stressful, the weather is a little too hot for me (but it’s cooling down into the 70s this week!), but otherwise all is good. The photo of Badger below is a typical scenario when Badger gets a new stuffie toy, and yes, I could stop buying them, but they make him so happy! Have a good week, everyone!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
July is speeding along way faster than I want it to! With a handful of July releases left to read and not enough time to read them, I’m in a bit of a panic mode. Luckily I’ll be able to post two reviews this week. Tomorrow, look for The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy, which I really enjoyed! It was VERY different than I expected however, and I have some thoughts. I’m currently reading Angel Down, and it’s the complete opposite of the Brigitte Knightley book. Daniel Kraus is an amazingly talented author, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes. Up next will mostly likely be The Deepest Fake and A Resistance of Witches.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday I’ll be posting a Top Ten Tuesday list with a Summer of Horror twist (it’s a “setting/place” freebie, can you guess what horror trope I might pick? Wednesday I have some cool new covers to share on Future Fiction; Friday I’ll probably tackle another color in the Rainbow of Horror palette; and Saturday is the last one of the month, so I’ll share my July book haul.
Summer of Horror Updates:

Thanks to everyone who is continuing to celebrate Summer of Horror with me! If I missed your post this week, please let me know:-)

I’m looking forward to the review of The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy! I’m very curious about it.
It was a lot of fun!
Have you tried kevlar?
Ha ha not yet! And he would figure out a way to tear through it I’m sure:-)
Looks like Badger showed that toy who’s boss!
Right??
That is why I don’t by Dresden toys, and she is just a little dog…lol. It’s funny how some dogs just tear them apart and others don’t. My aunt has a large dog, and he just carries his around…lol.
You’re cooling down and we are heating up…ugh.
We were shocked when Badger started destroying his toys, our other dogs never did that. Good luck with the heat!
Badger for the win! 😀 Hope this week is less stressful.
He definitely won this round:-) Thanks Lark!
The Badger picture is very familiar to my own experience with Cleo hahahaha
I’m glad he’s not the only destructive one!
I’m Team Badger! Lulu chews them and carries them around in her mouth but no destruction. Our last dog Gina was a destroyer and caught some live squirrels which wasn’t pretty. She was nice to bunnies though. Lulu thinks birds, squirrels and bunnies should be her friends and is sad they run away. I’d love 70s. It’s going to be 90s and feel like 100s here with a few thunderstorms.

I wish Badger would carry toys around gently but I don’t think that will ever happen, lol. My dachshund Ginger was a fierce squirrel hunter despite her size (she was just a little bigger than the squirrel!) and it was awful!
Toys are for de-stuffing! Good Badger 🙂
In this house they definitely are:-) Thanks for visiting!
OMG Badger 1 Octopus 0 !!! LOL
LOL so true!
Oh my, Badger and his stuffie — too precious! I’m just catching up after being away for a couple of weeks, so I see I missed your review of The Enchanted Greenhouse. I’m reading the book now, so I’ll come look for your review once I finish! Can’t wait to see your review of Angel Down, another upcoming read for me. Hope your work gets less stressful!
I’m finishing up Angel Down today. It’s quite the story, and so different from anything I’ve ever read!
I take it Badger won. LOL Have a great week.
sherry @ fundinmental
Ha ha he always wins!
Badger!! Ade is the same with toys! They don’t really last, but he is always so happy! And the look of satisfaction he has when he is finished!! And how is Badger? Is he better now?
Yes, he’s doing great! He didn’t need surgery after all and healed on his own:-)
I am so glad he is okay now!! *_*
Lol, Badger looks like he’s having a blast! We had one dog that the first thing he had to do was get the squeaker out of every toy, lol. Jealous that you’re having 70s weather! We are getting ready to have a lot of heat here I think, not what I was looking forward to getting back from my cruise. Although so far there’s been a lot of rain since I’ve been back.
Badger also is a master squeaker extractor, lol. And then he plays with the squeaker after he pulls it out.
Badger looks like he’s having an amazing time. I can see why you would buy him more when they make him so happy. 😀
I’m so ready for autumn, the hot weather is a bit much now.
Have a great week!
Badger is definitely spoiled! Good luck with the hot weather, autumn is coming…
Thanks for linking my post I’ll look out for your Top Ten Tuesday post today.
My pleasure! I’m glad you’re participating:-)
AAAHHHHH!!!!! The octopus!!! 🙂 Too funny. Looks to me like the cost of a stuffed animal every so often is a small price to pay.
LOL right? It was a whole octopus for about 5 minutes;-)
Hope the work situ is less stressful now.
I think the octopus lost!
Love Badger.
Lynn 😀
Our dogs have WAYYY too many toys. Apollo got in a habit of looking in bags when we would go shopping following Cass’s death and we always had something for him. That is a hard habit to break and now with Zekey, we have to by two! I agree, this summer has been much too hot here.
