Buffy’s Corner 4/13/25 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Last week I finally finished my rewatch of Virgin River, and it was fun! Lots of ridiculous drama, but I enjoyed myself. Season six ends on a cliffhanger, so I hope the next season is coming out soon. Now I’m watching Lost, which I haven’t seen since it premiered twenty years ago. I forgot how scary it was!

This was another busy work week for me, so it’s nice to have downtime this weekend. Our mountain weather is simply lovely, and I’ve been reading out on the deck:-)

The photo at the end of this post is Badger and his new buddy Oz, a puppy who looks exactly like him. One of our friends adopted him so I’m sure we’ll have lots of doggy play dates. Have a great week, everyone!

Upcoming reads & reviews:

I’m trying to post three reviews this week, starting tomorrow with Senseless, which I loved! I just received a copy of Mapping the Interior, which is a reprint of one of Stephen Graham Jones’s earlier books, and I’ll post that review on Thursday. Next up will be either The Gentleman and His Vowsmith or A Drop of Corruption.

Other posts this week:

April marks the start of Q2, so Tuesday I’ll share my Most Anticipated Books of the Second Quarter; the cover reveals are slowing down, but there’s still plenty to choose from for Future Fiction on Wednesday.

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

Don’t Sleep With the Dead by Nghi Vo – Review 3/5 stars

Future Fiction #326

Fourteen Books With Flowery Covers – But Make It Creepy

When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy – Review 5/5 stars

Hope to see you around the blogosphere:-D

  1. Awe, Badger and the puppy are sooo cute! And they are really alike! I am curious to see what you will think of A Drop of Corruption! And I am really curious about The Gentleman and His Vowsmith, I have it waiting for me but I am a bit overwhelmed by ARC and books to review, because I have no willpower whatsoever!

The Gentleman and His Vowsmith started really strong but it’s kind of boring at the moment. I’m going to push through, though, since it’s a review copy.

  2. Awe Badger has a friend! Cute! I need to finish the latest Virgin River season but I am just not a huge fan as it’s so not like the books. To much drama that is so unnecessary, so I know those who haven’t read the books like it more…lol. Glad you enjoy it.

    Have a great week!

I’m one of those that hasn’t read the books, but I do want to try them someday just to compare.

  3. Barb @ Booker T's Farm

I thought for a second you added another puppy. Man, Oz sure does look like Badger. I bet they have a blast together. I got the Stephen Graham Jones book too this week and can’t wait to dive in. Hope your work week isn’t as busy as you expect. I ADORE Virgin River and really miss the book series as much as the Netflix one. I can’t believe how much drama Netflix factors into their version though.

My husband wanted to adopt Oz, but we just don’t have a big enough yard for two dogs, plus he goes on trips all the time and I would be the one to deal with them, plus working full time from home. Nope! And yep, I feel like Virgin River is hitting every single “issue” in the book, lol. Like the writers have a checklist.

  4. Puppies are the best! I had some puppy time this past week too. I’m trying to get through reviews, so expect comments from me as I’m at a conference and away from my usual nightly time wasters (Dora and Argyle, lol). It’s been so long since I watched Lost as well. The beginning of that series was so good, and then, well I got kind of bored. Hope you have a good week!

I’m still on season one of Lost so we’ll see how the rest goes. I do remember everyone being mad at the way it ended, but I can’t remember all the details.

  5. OOOH! I love the Badger and Oz photo! I’m glad you are having lovely weather and can relax this weekend. Virgin River is too much drama for me. I couldn’t wait to read A Drop of Corruption and wanted to read it every week until I actually did.

I feel like Virgin River has a checklist of issues it has to hit, lol. But still fun to watch.

  6. Yay for puppy play dates, so cute! I’ve read Robyn Carr so I definitely believe Virgin River is very dramatic lol. I need to re-watch Lost one day, it’s so good. Enjoy your books this week!

I’m still on season one of Lost but loving it! I’ve forgotten a lot since the last time I watched it. Have a great week!

  7. Mini me, indeed. 🙂 And doesn’t that mountain air just somehow smell and feel so nice compared to in the city? I always notice that when we get up into the mountains for part of a day.

    • Tammy

It’s one of the perks of living in the mountains for sure. Now that I’ve adjusted to the altitude, I love the fresh air and the quiet:-)

  8. So much cuteness in that photo 😀
Looking forward to your review for A Drop of Corruption. I’m finally reading the first book and it’s so good! I think it may end up being 5 stars for me.
