Fourteen Books With Flowery Covers – But Make It Creepy

I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog,

I love flowery covers, but you know what I love even more? CREEPY flowery covers. And surprise surprise, I’ve found quite a few of them. You should also notice that many of these feature bugs and other creepy crawlies, making them very creepy! (click on the covers to see more creepy details…)

Which creepy flower cover is your favorite?

  1. The Brood! That brings back great memories of the very creepy but fantastic old X-Men comic book storyline about a parasitic alien species that hatch inside their host. One of them gets inside Wolverine. 🙂

  2. Love your theme and I love all of the covers so hard to pick a favourite but based on how I gasped when I saw The Works of Vermin I’ll say that. Added it to my tbr it sounds SO creepy. Blood on her Tongue is a close one though!

I’m definitely interested in The Works of Vermin, not just for the cover but the story sounds very weird:-)

  3. These are fabulous! When I was doing my spring covers TTT and looking for flowers on the cover, I had one I read last year (The Garden by Clare Beams) that was too dark for my purposes, but I think it would fit here! 🙂

  4. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader

They are flowery and creepy! Perfectly you Tammy or more your reading tastes (I don’t mean that you are creepy or flowery )

  5. I love floral covers too. I don’t necessarily prefer the creepy ones but I have fallen for a few memorable ones in the past. I’m not sure which my favourite is. I love that The Great Work looks almost luminous and the cleverly designed snake on Hemlock & Silver though. I’m also going to have to check out the premises of the first two as they’ve really caught my eye.

I’m always drawn to flower covers no matter the genre. Luckily there are a lot of them!

  6. Barb @ Booker T's Farm

These are great. I think you could have added “Eat the Ones You Love” although I guess it is technically a plant. I see a few here I need to check out and already have copies of Blood on Her Tongue, The Library of Hellebore and The Great Work. Love you spin on this topic!
