February 2025 Reading Wrap-Up

February was a really good reading month for me, and out of eight books only one didn’t work that well. My favorite book of the month was Future’s Edge, followed by The Bones Beneath My Skin and Victorian Psycho. I’ve linked my reviews below if you’d like to read them!

Future’s Edge by Gareth L. Powell

The Bones Beneath My Skin by T.J. Klune

Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito

Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett

The Third Rule of Time Travel by Philip Fracassi

Tartufo by Kira Jane Buxton

Murder by Memory by Olivia Waite

But Not Too Bold by Hache Pueyo

What was your favorite book of February?

That’s a nice selection! How do you compare the third Emily Wilde to the rest of the series? I have been reluctant to pick it up because I know they always start a bit slow but I’ve also been very curious as I love the folklore and Emily and Wendell’s dynamics

The third Emily Wilde was my least favorite, but obviously I loved it because of my rating. It’s slower and didn’t have quite the charm of the first two books.

  2. I never pick a favorite, I should try to do that more often. Let’s see, I’ll pick On Loverose Lane by Samantha Young because it was great to be back in that world, but then also Cupid has Heart On by Tara Sivec because it made me laugh so much!

I sort of automatically pick favorites by the way I organize this post (most favorite to least favorite), but sometimes it’s hard to pick.

  3. Each time I see a Gareth Powell book featured I’m even more interested in giving his work a try. My favorite of the month may have been the Stormbringer collection of Elric novels by Michael Moorcock, an older collection of classic sword & sorcery.

I think I have a Michael Moorcock book in my library somewhere, but I can’t recall ever reading his work. I’m glad you enjoyed them!
