I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog,
I’m always adding books to my TBR, so this was an easy list to come up with. Here are ten books that intrigue me, books I haven’t shared yet on the blog that I’m definitely considering reading (listed in alphabetical order and linked to Goodreads):
A Fellowship of Bakers & Magic by J. Penner. April 2025, Poisoned Pen Press. This isn’t the usual type of book that Poisoned Pen Press publishes, but I’m always curious about new cozy fantasies, and the fact that delicious baked goods are part of the story is a bonus:-)
A Land So Wide by Erin A. Craig. September 2025, Pantheon. I’ve read one of Craig’s YA books, and it was just OK for me. So I’m excited to see what she’ll do with an adult fantasy. This sounds really good.
Alchemised by SenLinYu. September 2025, Del Rey Books. I just saw this cover reveal on Instagram and I’m intrigued! Although it’s doubtful I’ll read this since it’s almost 1000 pages long.
An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating by Cecilia Edward. August 2025, Saga Press. This cover is a little cartoony for my taste, but I love the title, and the story sounds very cozy and witchy.
The Haunting of William Thorn by Ben Alderson. September 2025, Angry Robot. A queer haunted house story? This sounds really good. Plus, take a close look at the cover, it’s amazing!
It Was Her House First by Cherie Priest. July 2025, Poisoned Pen Press. I struggled with Priest’s last book, so I’m not sure this will work for me either, but I do love haunted hose stories, so I may keep this on my list for now.
Nowhere by Allison Gunn. March 2025, Atria Books. A combination of Appalachian folklore and family saga sounds like my kind of story, and I love this haunting cover!
Our Gifted Hearts by Jennifer Kennedy. October 2025, Angry Robot. This is a witchy story that’s coming out near Halloween, so it could be a good pick for spooky season. It’s hard to tell on this small image, but the cover is designed as embroidery, and it’s so pretty. Try to find a large image so you can see the detail!
Unhallowed Halls by Lili Wilkinson. February 2025, Delacorte Press. This is a YA dark academia that could be interesting. I do see lots of three star reviews on Goodreads, though.
What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown. June 2025, Random House. I actually have at least one Janelle Brown book in my library, and I remember really enjoying it. Her latest is getting a lot of praise. It takes place in the 1990s and revolves around the early days of the internet. It’s a mystery thriller that I may need to pick up!

“Although it’s doubtful I’ll read this since it’s almost 1000 pages long.”
?????!!!!! How did the publishers think this would be a good idea?
I think I’ll pass on Priest’s upcoming book. I did enjoy the one you wasn’t enthralled with, but the premise of this one doesn’t call to me.
I’m planning on picking up Alchemised and A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic sounds cute!
The last one might work for me!
Enjoy
Our Gifted Hearts sounds amazing and it’s so cool that the cover is an embroidery style design. I already had a few of the others on my TBR but I’ve added a few of the others now too. Out of interest what Erin A. Craig book did you read before? I’m also surprised Alchemised is so long, especially as I believe it began life as a Dramione fanfiction (I could be wrong on that fact but I’m sure I saw it said somewhere as I was surprised to realise I had three such books on my 2025 TBR )
The Haunting of William Thorn sounds and looks amazing! Thanks for introducing it to me.
I’m curious about A Land So Wide.
Wow this would be a really good fall upcoming release list too! I haven’t seen any from that far out yet!
I find I’m developing a soft spot for cozy fantasies so I’m curious about A Fellowship of Bakers & Magic. And I agree, that cover for Nowhere is fantastic, very haunting.
What Kind of Paradise does sound good to me! I’ve had mixed results with Cherie Priest as well — but I’ll at least be curious to see more about this one, and see if it ends up appealing to me.
So many awesome covers here, and I hope you get to some of them, because I’ll love reading your reviews! Great picks!
Hope your able to get to some of these and you enjoy them.
I almost choked at Alchemised being almost 1000 pages long. My brain can’t read books that long anymore 😛

This Was Her House First has such an ominous title. I really hope it’s a win for both of us!
I should add SenLinYu book as I think this is the traditionally published Manacled that everyone is raving about but that I haven’t read!
As always, you tempt me with so many great books, Tammy! Erin A. Craig’s book interests me as does Our Gifted Hearts. I hope you get a chance to read all of these and enjoy them when you do!
I liked the one book I’ve read by Priest, so I need to try more of hers. Her last one sounded strange, so I didn’t even attempt it! Ha ha. I hope you enjoy all these.
Happy TTT (on a Thursday)!

I love all the nature on the covers. I hope you enjoy these!
How many interesting books!! I think I am the most intrigued by the first one, but a lot of the others sound pretty intriguing!
You do know that I hold you largely responsible for my oh-so teetering TBR pile, don’t you? I love the sound of An Ancient Witch’s Guide… and A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic:)). Though I’m also intrigued by Alchemised… As ever – you have the coolest collections of books to tempt me.
Made sure to get some of these added to goodreads so I can keep an eye on them! Alchemised is intriguing, but a debut that sits at almost a thousand pages is brave and really surprising.
Ooh, a new Cherie Priest – I can see why her last book might not have worked for everyone but just to be different I really liked it – so I’m very curious about this one.
