The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
I haven’t done a Friday Face-Off since February, so I thought it was time to join in again. Today I’m featuring The Narrows by Ronald Malfi. Titan Books is reissuing it this month, so there are some nice covers for a comparison. Take a look:
Titan Books 2024 | Samhain Publishing 2012
Journalstone 2017 | Dark Fuse 2012
All of these covers have interesting elements, but I’m gravitating towards the first two covers because of the oranges and yellows. If I had to choose, I’d pick the Samhain Publishing cover as my favorite.
The new 2024 cover is FAB! I love the colors and overall atmosphere of it.

Me too! And it goes well with the story:-)
I think I agree the Samhain Publishing one is my favorite.
I love it because of the colors:-)
I am undecided between the one by Samhain and the one by Dark Fuse. Both are creepy, in different ways and they are eye-catching!
I think the author got lucky with so many great covers:-)
I like the second cover. The street fading into the background depict the title the best.

Yes, me too!
I love the covers for the top two. They’re so dramatic and, like you, if pushed I’d probably opt for the Samhain.
Lynn 😀
I like the drama and the contrast too:-)
Like you I’m gravitating to the first two, though I have a slight preference for the Titan edition.
The Titan edition is the one I have a copy of, and so far the story seems to fit it well.
I had no idea there were so many covers for this book. Gonna have to go with Titan.
I was surprised!
My favourite is the Titan 2024 cover. I think the colours really work. Although I do appreciate the vintage horror vibes of the Dark Fuse one. It looks like a book that wouldn’t look out of place alongside something like Dracula.
I have the Titan edition and I do love that cover.
I vote for the Samhain too!
I love all the colors:-)
Agree, I like the Samhain the best. While the Titan is the most “polished”, the Samhain one is the most visually appealing for me! Now I also want to read this heh!

Apart from he last one, I love all the others!
Unfortunately, Lynn no longer chooses a theme, I think that was more fun with a theme
