Buffy’s Corner 5/5/24 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Next week I hope to have some bear photos for you, since hubby is currently in Yosemite looking for them. Hopefully he’s using his long lens and staying far away! Otherwise, life is pretty much same same. I hope everyone has a good week:-)

Upcoming reads & reviews:

I’m hoping to post three reviews this week, but we’ll see if I can make that happen or not. Tomorrow look for my review of The House That Horror Built. It was sort of a mixed bag for me, I really liked some elements but not others, and I’ll explain all in my review. I’m currently reading Evocation and The Brides of High Hill. I’m enjoying Evocation much more than An Education in Malice so far. And I’ve just started My Darling Dreadful Thing, which is very strange but I think I’m going to like it a lot. I’ll be happy if I can get through all these this week.

Other posts this week:

On Tuesday I’m joining Top Ten Tuesday with a list of books featuring May flowers; Wednesday is Future Fiction as usual; and I may do a book haul post on Saturday.

In case you missed:

  1. If I recall correctly it’s “only” black bears and no grizzly in Yosemite right? I hope we’ll get to see some pictures too! have a great week Tammy!

  2. I’ve collected the first 4 books in Nghi Vo’s The Singing Hills Cycle but I’ve yet to try any, even though they all appear to be novellas in length. Maybe one of these days I’ll try sorting out novellas from longer works and start trying some of these shorter ones in between the longer novels.

  3. TNT

I am so envious you get to read Brides of High Hill! I’ve loved all the books in that series. Best of luck to your husband’s photo activities and may this month’s reading delight you.

  4. Speaking of strange books, have you started Someone I Can Build a Nest In? I think it was on your radar. I grabbed it from the library this past weekend and started the first chapter. So weird! Great little birdie. Hope you have a great week!
