I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!
Today we’re doing the walk of shame and sharing the books we wanted to read last year but didn’t. In my case, these are all review books that for whatever reason I just couldn’t get to, and yes, I feel pretty bad about that. Still, I guess it’s possible to catch up with these in 2024, so maybe I can knock a few off this list. Here are my biggest regrets, in alphabetical order:
Have you read any of these books? Which one should I read first?
I’m sure I read the first of the Cinder Spires books, it seems like ages ago now though.
Red Rabbit is the one that catches my attention most here I think.
Hope you enjoy all these if you do get around to reading them 😀

It was about 7 years ago, lol. No wonder you can’t remember.
My list would be endless lol. I can’t help but notice how a lot of these book covers have red-ish vibes 😛

I swear I didn’t plan on the red cover theme, lol.
I’m feeling the shame today, too 🙂 I haven’t read any of these so I’m no help lol

Ha ha I’m glad I’m not alone:-)
Jinn bot was an interesting one for me. Definitely loved the world building more than the characters, but I hope you enjoy it even more

Good to know, I’m looking forward to it and very curious now:-)
Good luck. With all the ones you have on your new plate every month, I have the feeling catching up is hard work

Its very hard, I way over extend myself, lol.
Cool list! I haven’t read any of these but a few are on my TBR. I hope you can get to these soon! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Thanks Jenni!
Looks like an excellent bunch — I’ve been curious about some of these! The Cat Rambo doesn’t sound like entirely my thing, but I keep thinking about giving it a try anyway.
Hope you enjoy ’em once you get to them!

I’ve got to get to the Cat Rambo book because the third book in the series comes out this year!
I see at least 4 here I would like to get to including Dead Take the A Train, Gothic, Court of Shadows and Find Him Where You Left Him Dead – a title I can never get right now matter how many times I say it. It’s a never-ending game of catch up right?
It is, but we keep trying, lol.
I refuse to feel shame over unread books! 🙂 Not like you didn’t read plenty in 2023… just not these. I haven’t read any of yours, but I considered the Jim Butcher (except that would require a reread of the first in the series, and I’m just not up for it). Good luck if you decide to try to catch up!
Good for you! Hey, there will always be unread books, no matter how much you read.
I love the idea of a bookish ‘walk of shame’ – good one!

Ha ha it’s hard to admit I’m way behind;-)
The walk of shame! I felt the same when compiling books for this prompt. Lol! I love that all the covers of the books you shared here have such a red sinister vibe to them! I hope you enjoy them all!

There are a lot of red books, lol.
Ooh yes I need to get to Court Of Shadows too!! I hope you manage to catch up with all of these. Good luck.
Thanks Charlotte!
I hope you’re able to read some of these soon.
Thanks Kristi!
I just finished up The Dead Take the A Train and it was insane (in a great way) – Enjoy!
Good to know!
Rubicon is definitely worth checking out!!
Caitlin G. recently posted…Review: DEFIANT by Brandon Sanderson
It’s a TBR jar book, so it WILL be read;-)
I have Rubicon on my TBR but still have to read it – and to say the truth I have not read Dewes’ The Exiled Fleet as well. My bad…. (((SIGH)))
🙂
Maddalena@spaceandsorcery recently posted…LONE WOMEN, by Victor LaValle
I’m definitely squeezing it in!
I hope you enjoy all of them when you do read them. It’s so easy to get behind on review books…or non-review books for that matter.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
It’s so easy, right? Maybe I can keep up better this year.
I read Chaos Terminal and The Olympian Affair. I liked them both a LOT. But they are second books in the series and I think you need to read the first book first.
Yes, I’ve read both first books, just didn’t find time to read the sequels.
I didn’t get to Red Rabbit either and a slew of others. 🙂

I guess we’re all in the same boat.
Jim Butcher’s book is one I had been ogling but…
It’s long and intimidating, I think that’s why I haven’t read it yet.
Yep, the book reviewer’s walk of shame – we’ve all been there I think.
Lynn 😀
Yes, and every year…
I tried to read Jinn-Bot a few weeks ago but ended up DNFing it since it wasn’t really grabbing me. Hopefully it will work better for you!
I also plan to read The Court of Shadows eventually. Not a lot of translated SFF out there so I’m curious! I’m also interested in Chaos Terminal but I have to read book 1 first.
I hope Jinn Bot works for me too!
I enjoyed the first book enough that I bought a copy of Devil’s Gun, but like you I haven’t read it yet. 🙁
I’m glad I’m not alone:-)
I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Thanks Susan!
Oooh see this is my relationship with every book I own! Of these, I have read Rubicon (loved), Chaos Terminal (loved), and Find Him Where You Left Him Dead (good). I also really want to read Rouge and Red Rabbit , and probably The Dead Take a Train and maybe The Jinn-Bot of Shantiport. If you end up liking it, basically hah. Hope you do get a chance to read these soon, and that they end up being worth the wait!

I read “The Dead Take the A Train” and reviewed it at Horror Tree. It was great…I’d recommend that!
How many interesting books! I hope to read Rambo’s book soon, and I wanted to read Rubicon and The Jinn Bot last year too! Maybe we’ll have more luck this year!
Oh the Jinn Bot of Shantiport and Rubicon. I wanted to buy them desperately for a while and then they just faded to the background. Hopefully this year.
