Buffy’s Corner 5/14/23 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Queen Charlotte was so good. When I started watching I didn’t realize it was only six episodes, so that last one caught me by surprise. But what a perfect ending! Such an emotional and well done show, although it’s darker and more serious than Bridgerton.

I have to share a few of the flowering/leafing trees and plants on my property. Now that spring is here, I’m thrilled to discover we already have some beautiful ones. I’m also trying to identify these, but my plant identifier app is seriously lacking, lol.

Upcoming reads & reviews:

I had the best time with Fourth Wing, and it seems most other readers did too! Look for a review this week. I’m also hoping to review All the Dead Lie Down as well. After that, I’ll probably dive into More Perfect and The Endless Vessel.

Other posts this week:

On Tuesday, I’m sharing 20 Upcoming Adult Fantasy Books to Get Excited About, for Wyrd & Wonder; and Wednesday I have some exciting cover reveals to share on Future Fiction.

  1. That’s awesome you have flowering trees around your house. I love the time of year when all the trees flower. Granted, my sinuses don’t always love it. 🙂

I never thought I had allergies but I think being around different trees and flowers is testing that theory…

  2. All the pictures this week are so pretty! I knew going in that Queen Charlotte was only 6 episodes, but for some reason when I got to the 6th episode I had in my head it was 8 episodes, so I was still a little surprised when it ended. I’ve heard a ton of good stuff about The Fourth Wing! I might have to get my hands on it. Have a good week!

  3. Yet another beautiful bird photo!! I’ll keep an eye out for your review of THE ENDLESS VESSEL…that one interested me, but I didn’t request it on NG in order to keep myself in line. I still have quite a few episodes to get through in Queen Charlotte, but I’ve watched episode 1 and part of episode 2 and I love it. The cinematography framing of some of the scenes is excellent as is the wardrobe.

Thank you Anne! I’m always impressed with your flowers, hopefully I’ll be able to grow mine too.

Thanks Lisa! I just started a Bridgerton rewatch, now that I have that background from Queen Charlotte, it’s so interesting to see it with new eyes:-)

I think you’d love it! It literally grabbed me from the first page. That doesn’t happen often enough:-)

  4. I am so happy you loved Fourth Wing too! My review will be up next week as well! Also watching Queen Charlotte is my plan for next weekend!

    • Tammy

I hope you enjoy Queen Charlotte! I’m rewatching seasons one and two of Bridgerton now:-)

  5. I’m still watching Queen Charlotte but really liking it so far. Just haven’t been able to watch as much as I would want yet. I’m loving your pictures of the flowering/leafing trees. Here in Belgium we have spring, then it goes away again, then it comes back. It’s kinda crazy. But I’m gonna buy some flowers this coming week nonetheless!

It’s sort of the same here. Spring came and then a couple of weeks later it snowed, lol. Now the snow’s melted and hopefully that’s it until next winter!
