Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
I never thought a trip to Costco would be just as fun as Disneyland, lol. I finally made it out of the house and did some long overdue shopping and stocking up. My soul is restored! Ha ha. Not much else to report here. There’s still lots of snow but it’s melting! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Hubby doesn’t have any new photos to share, so at the end of this post I’ll share a photo of my sweet boy Otis:-)
Upcoming reads & reviews:
I spend most of the week reading The Girl From Rawblood, which is not the kind of story you race through. I ended up loving it, though! Look for my review tomorrow. Later in the week I’ll post a review of Feed Them Silence. I plan on diving into Infinity Gate today, and it’s pretty long so I suspect it will take me all week to read. After that, I’m excited to finally start Hel’s Eight.
Other posts this week:
It’s another slower week on the blog, with just a few posts. Look for the usual suspects: Future Fiction on Wednesday, and The Friday Face-Off on Friday.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Friday Face-Off: The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz
The Mimicking of Known Successes by Malka Older – Review 4/5 stars
The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz – Review 3.5/5 stars
I will take an Otis pic any day! So cute! 🙂 I can’t believe how much snow Northern CA has gotten, crazy. We are having a lot of rain here so glad it’s not been cold enough to turn it to snow!

Thanks Stormi!
Awww look at Otis! And I get it with Cotsco because that’s how I felt when we were allowed to go shopping and got to the movie after the lockdown!
That’s sort of how I feel now, like I’ve been in lockdown because of the weather, lol.
Ah, sweet Otis! Love his gray paws! Glad the snow is starting to melt for you guys! I’ve still got your reviews to go check out. No time this week, it was too busy! Looking forward to what you get to this week as well. Have a good week!

Thanks Lisa! I hope you have a good week too:-)
Otis is adorable! And as for feeling like Disneyland in Costco – which I’m guessing is a large supermarket?? – kudos to you! I know that when I began getting to the shops after being so ill, I was simply overwhelmed with the whole experience and spent most of my time trying not to panic. Glad you weren’t in that place, Tammy. And glad the snow is melting – while I know it’s been beautiful where you are, it must have been intensely cold. Have a great week:)).
Thank you Sarah! Yes Costco is a large warehouse “big box” store that I love. Luckily I don’t have anxiety when I’m shopping:-)
Otis is the CUTEST!! The Girl From Rawblood has been on my TBR for years, I’m curious to read your thoughts! It sounds like a very atmospheric story.

Thank you Maryam! I’m so glad I read The Girl From Rawblood, it’s very atmospheric:-)
Awww, Otis!!! What a sweetie. I’m looking forward to starting Infinity Gates, but I have a feeling I’m going to hold off a bit until I feel ready for such a long book. Hope you enjoy!!
Infinity Gate appears to be a big book with big ideas, so it’s definitely going to take some time to read:-)
I’m glad you enjoyed getting out and about. We had flurries this morning- shocking. I think you definitely need more Otis coverage here on the blog. He’s lovely.
Oh wow, hopefully those flurries will remain flurries! Thank you Anne, he is a lovely dog:-)
Glad to hear you were able to get out and do some grocery shopping. Funny how different that can feel after having been cooped up for any length of time. 🙂
My whole outlook on entertainment has changed since I moved to the mountains, lol.
I’m glad your snow is melting. It will be fun to see the first grass! Have a great week

I can’t wait until Spring! We have a flowering tree with buds on it now, I’m excited:-)
Lovely as the picture of wildlife are, Otis is made of such cute sweetness that he makes for a very welcome change 🙂
Awww thank you. I love giving my Otis the spotlight:-)
Otis is so cute!!!
Glad you managed to get out for a change of scene. I still haven’t read anything by Catriona Ward yet so curious to see your review of The Girl From Rawblood. I like the sound of her new one as well so perhaps that might be the one I start with.

Thank you! I have had really good luck with Catriona Ward’s books. My favorite is still The Last House on Needless Street.
Look at Otis looking all dapper. He is adorable. Cass is starting to grey and of course, he’s added more than his share of grey on me as well! Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Barb! I think his gray is so distinguished:-)
That is one bright carpet, Tammy
I know! We needed something bright in this room, and I love it.
