I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Check out upcoming Top Ten themes on Jana’s blog!
Today’s theme is actually “2023 debut authors,” but I’m twisting the theme a bit and listing ten authors I haven’t read yet, but I’d love to finally cross off my list in 2023. I’m sharing two books from each author that I want to read: one new release that’s coming out this year, and a backlist book. Take a look at my list, and let me know if you’d already read these authors! (listed alphabetically by author’s last name)
I really enjoyed Home Before Dark by Riley Sager, and I read The Other People by C. J Tudor which was really good. The Burning Girls is one I’d like to read, and I’d also love to get around to reading The Hacienda at some point.
Great list 😀

Thanks, I’d like to try all the books you mentioned:-)
Due, Canas, and Sager are some of my favorites! Enjoy!
Good to know! Thanks Lauren:-)
I thought I was the only person who hadn’t read anything by Riley Sager or C.J. Tudor yet! There are definitely a few others I need to check out here too. I haven’t read the two Samantha Downing books that you’ve listed (ironically Lovely Wife is the only one I own too) but I adored her other books and hope to read the two listed here soon. Hopefully some of these authors will become new favourites for you.
I’m so excited to try Samantha Downing:-)
Great twist! I am curious about Wellington

Me too, I own a bunch of his books too, so I have no excuses.
I’ve not read anything from these authors. Some names I recognize but I think some are new to me. I hope you find some new favorites here.
Thanks Todd!
I haven’t read anything by any of these authors, either! I hope you enjoy all of these when you get around to them.
It would be nice if I could read at least half of them, we shall see:-)
I need to read something by Samantha Downing. I really like Riley Sager, but I need to read his first few books. I also need to read more by C.J. Tudor, as I loved The Chalk Man.

Sounds like we both have a lot of reading to do;-)
I’ve heard good things about The Hacienda. Hope you like it.

Thanks Lydia!
Isabel Cañas is on my list to start reading. I am on a waiting list for her “The Hacienda.”
Great list!
I hope we can both get to it! Thanks for visiting:-)
I have read V. Castro before but it was Queen of the Cicadas. I LOVED it and really want to read more of her works. She has a recent short story collection that is on my TBR. But now come on, you know what book I’m gonna jump on here right? Little Heaven – PLEASE! I did enjoy The Troop though. I read The Goode House way before I started blogging and enjoyed it as well. I remember it actually had 100 pages of it printed twice so despite being good, it always sticks in my mind for that reason. Looks like you have some good reading ahead!
Oh that’s right, Little Heaven is on your Worst Books Ever list, lol. I had forgotten. And now I want to read Queen of the Cicadas!
I hope you get to read all of these. I love Riley Sager’s books.
Oh cool, good to know. I’m very excited to try him.
I love it — we both have the same twist on the topic this week! We don’t have authors in common, although I still do want to read The Hacienda. Great list!
Thanks Lisa! I hope we can both read The Hacienda soon.
What a fun twist! I hope you love all these books.
Thanks Deanna!
Riley Sager! I keep saying I will read his books but then I never seem to get around to them. Hopefully this is the year we will both read one of this books.

That’s how I feel! I just never get to them. Good luck to both of us actually reading one soon!
I like Samantha Downing but only read My Lovely Wife…lol. Need to read more.

I was just approved for her upcoming book on NetGalley. Yay, I can’t wait!
Ooh I’ve been interested in some of these also. North American Lake Monsters looks intriguing. We used to have a lake place so that caught my eye 🙂

Oh cool. I would love to live by a lake, even though half the horror stories I read revolve around lakes, lol.
I been wanting to read North American Lake Monsters. Hope you get to read all of these books.

Hopefully we can both find time to read it:-)
Riley Sager is the only author on this list that I’ve read. I’ve read all of his books but one and have enjoyed them all, although some are better than others, of course. His newest sounds especially awesome! I can’t wait to read it.
Happy TTT!

I’m going to try to read his upcoming book for sure!
These are all such arresting covers, but for some reason the cover for North American Lake Monsters just keeps pulling me back.
It’s a cool cover, right?
Nick Cutter and C.J. Tudor are two authors that I often see around and would love to check out in the future too! Great list, Tammy! 😀
Thanks Lashaan! There’s never a shortage of books/authors I want to try:-)
I did try one of Riley Sager’s books once (Final Girls) and just couldn’t get into it, I hope you have more luck with the ones you’ve picked. I hope you enjoy all of these!

I have seen mixed reviews for many of Sager’s books, so we’ll see how they work for me:-)
Great list. I’ve read at least one book from half of them and really enjoyed what I read, especially The Hacienda.
Everyone loves the Hacienda! Another reason I need to squeeze it in:-)
I haven’t read any of these authors. Wellington’s books seem to be SF so I’m curious about your reviews of them.
Mervi recently posted…Charles Grant: Whirlwind
He has also written horror, and I can’t believe I haven’t read any of them.
I’d like to try Tananarive Due‘s work too.
I always hear great things about her books.
There are some big names on your list Tammy!
I know! I really can’t believe I haven’t read them yet:-)
I have somehow not read any of these authors either? Now I’m questioning everything I thought I knew about myself. xD I’ve heard amazing things about Riley Sager, and I recommend their books often at the library and most people come back happy after having read them, so I assume they must be pretty good lol. I’ve had Samantha Downing recommended by numerous patrons, too! I hope you love them all when you get a chance to read them. 😉
The Hacienda is on my TBR. And I need to read Nick Cutter. I got an ARC for one of his books a while ago, but never got to it. Hope you get to these books and can share your thoughts with us!
