Buffy’s Corner 1/29/23 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

Oooh it’s warmed up into the 50s this past week, lol. Sometimes I do wonder if I’ll ever be warm again. My family is coming to visit us in our new house for the first time today, so I’m excited about that! Otherwise, it’s business as usual. I hope you all are having a good weekend:-)

Upcoming reads & reviews:

It’s an all red cover theme this week! It’s the end of the month, and I still have a few January releases I need to read, so there will be some carry over into February. Tomorrow, look for my review of One Girl in All the World. I’m still plugging away at Don’t Fear the Reaper, and I’d like to finish in and get a review up next week. The Drift and What Lies in the Woods are two thrillers I’ll be reading next!

Other posts this week:

It’s a very busy week for me! This week is a Top Ten Tuesday freebie, so check back to see the theme I’ve chosen; I have three exciting cover reveals on Future Fiction; I’m also cramming in both a January Wrap-Up Post (Wednesday) and my February reading plans (What’s On My Plate, Thursday); Friday I’ll either post a review or do a Friday Face-Off; and Saturday look for my latest book haul!

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

The Keeper’s Six by Kate Elliott – Review 4/5 stars

The Friday Face-Off: Homecoming by Kate Morton

Future Fiction #211

Ten “New to Me” Authors I Read in 2022

  1. Enjoy your family visit!!!
And book wise I have read a book by Tudor and really enjoyed it, so I decided to read more of them but so far I didn’t have any luck with them!! There is always so many books and so little time but I am curious to see what you would think of this one!

  2. Have fun with your family! How are you liking your new house?
I need to read The Drift soon and that other Thriller I am curious about as well so can’t wait to see what you think of both of those!

Have a great week and happy reading!

We are loving our new house, although we’re still getting used to a lot of new routines, etc. It’s so pretty up here:-)

  3. It’s hard to imagine that we’ll be warm again in winter right? And it’s exciting to have your family visiting for the first time in the new home!

  4. Seeing family should help warm you up a bit. 🙂 I’m curious to hear about The Drift. And I remember seeing my first Stellar’s Jay when I visited Rocky Mountain National Park. I love how different they look from the blue jays we see around here.

I think this is the first time I’ve seen a Steller’s Jay. We leave peanuts on the porch rail to lure them in:-)

  5. The bird picture is amazing as usual! I’ll be back tomorrow to check out your review of One Girl as well! I didn’t get to some of your other reviews like I planned this past week. Hopefully I can get time in to do more of them this week. We had the warm last week too, but it’s going to be frigid today, right in time for our big football game! Hope you have a good week!

  6. I don’t know if I’d survive in a cooler climate, haha. I do hope you feel warmth soon! I always love getting to share a new house with family members. There really is a red theme this week! I noticed all the books I’m reading right now have warm colors as well, I feel like there’s always some sort of accidental theme, haha. I’m also currently reading Don’t Fear the Reaper and it’s going well! I look forward to your review. 🙂 Hope you have a great week!

  7. I hope the visit goes smoothly and I’m sorry you have been feeling so cold – it’s a wretched feeling… I recall vividly how miserable I felt as a girl when I first moved to England from Zambia and endured my first winter! The key is to wear warm socks and/or tights and keep your hands warm – with fingerless mittens if necessary. Have a cosier week, Tammy!

  8. I’m currently reading The Spite House and am hoping to start Don’t Fear the Reaper afterward which should be soon! I can’t wait to hear what you’ll think of What Lies in the Woods!
