The Friday Face-Off: HOMECOMING by Kate Morton

The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!

This week I’m highlighting a book on my TBR that hasn’t been released yet, Homecoming by Kate Morton. Not only does it already have three covers, but all three are really good. Take a look:

Mariner Books edition, 2023. I absolutely love this cover, and it’s my favorite. I haven’t read a Kate Morton book in a while, but I’d really like to make time for this one.

Finnish edition, 2023.  This is so different, but I like it a lot! This is also the cover for the French and Australian editions.

Mantle (UK?) edition, 2023.  And yet another completely different cover! What the heck is this about anyway? lol. Now I want to read the book just to see which cover fits it the best.

Which cover do you like best? Are you planning to read Homecoming?

  1. I like that first cover. It seems to fit the title, the idea of driving down this old driveway through the trees to the old house. And it reminds me of a location here that I assume used to be a big house or farm of some kind at one point because it has a road between rows of trees like this, but now it’s a state wildlife management area.

  2. I can’t remember what it was about but I know this is on my tbr and I was intrigued by it my favourite is the first cover too (I love the gothic sort of vibes it gives me) but I love the colour scheme of the last one too. The two give off majorly different vibes though.

  3. Snapdragon

I like the first two covers. The light blue and yellow with a bird in the middle doesn’t fit well.
