Ah, so many choices this week! I’ve decided to do a true face-off between two covers, only because the author shared the second cover on social media recently and I LOVE it. My book this week is Tidepool by Nicole Willson. If you love creepy, small town cosmic horror, you need to read this book.
The Parliament House Press, 2021. This is the original cover of the book, and it perfectly captures the cosmic horror elements with the tentacles, and the overall design suggests the 1913 time period the story is set in.
Spanish edition, 2022. For pure weirdness and creativity, this is my favorite of the two covers. If I could track down a copy of this edition, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Isn’t it cool?
I prefer the original ccover. : )
It’s definitely a good one:-)
The Parliament House Press but I really love the cover of the Spanish edition!!! 😮

It’s crazy right?
I loved Tidepool! I like the Parliament House cover a little better because I think it fits the Gothic elements of the story.

I do love that cover as well.
Both of those are awesome covers, but the details on the Spanish make it great!
I agree, so weird but it makes you want to read the book:-)
Interesting how different they are, and yet they both seem to evoke both cosmic horror vibes and an older 1913 vibe. Not sure which I prefer, but I do enjoy the differences.
I love when both covers of a book work:-)
Oooh, I need to read this! I also love both covers. The weirdness of the second one definitely demands attention.

It’s really good! I wish she would write another book.
I like the first cover myself, the second one is strange but I can see why some would like it. Maybe if I have read the book I might think differently.
The book is pretty strange so I think the second cover works:-)
The first one for me!
It really goes with the story:-)
Oh yes, the second one is amazing! The tentacle collar is definitely a nice touch!
The Spanish edition is creeping me out too much – maybe that shows it’s perfect?! But I love the original one personally.
