This week’s theme: Steampunk
There are lots of great choices this week! I’m looking forward to checking out everyone’s Friday Face-Off posts:-) I decided to go with The Clockwork Dynasty by Daniel H. Wilson. I only found three covers but I think they are all worthy! Take a look:
U.S. hardcover, Doubleday edition 2017. This cover screams “steampunk,” and I love the whole idea of the old fashioned typewriter and the clockwork heart in the middle. This is my favorite.
Vintage paperback 2018. I love this too! The clockwork eye is really cool, and I love the font and the overall design of this cover.
German edition 2019. Another really good cover! I love the motion of the running figure and the glimpse of steampunk gears, suggesting the character is part machine. Honestly, this is a tough week. I like all three covers, although the Doubleday cover just edges out the others.
I like the US hardcover edition. The text inside vintage typewriter-type keys does it for me!

It’s such a clever way to show the title and author:-)
There’s something interesting in each of them, awesome covers!
And this one has been on my TBR for a few years – time to put it higher!
I went with “gadgets”, a book you probably enjoy a lot

I loved it, if you ever get the chance to read it, let me know!
All of these are great, but I definitely prefer the German edition. Thanks for sharing!
I like that one too:-)
Ooh, perfect pick! I think the US Hardcover edition is my favorite as well, it’s so classically steampunk-looking, and very aesthetically pleasing for some reason, haha.
It’s got that vintage Steampunk look, right?
I love that first one!
Me too, it’s also my favorite:-)
I like the German one!
I do too, it’s unique!
I completely agree with Priscilla, the text inside the gears that then look like typwriter keys are perfect and really draw me to the US hardcover edition.
That’s what got me too, those typewriter keys:-)
I love those first two covers! 🙂
I think the author got lucky with his covers:-)
Think I like the Vintage one best. The clockwork eye is too cool.

It really is, it’s a great idea:-)
Great covers! I like the Vintage one the best,
It’s very cool:-)
The first one for me!
🙂
These are all really good! The dynamic movement cover definitely has something a little extra though.
I like all three but think the doubleday is my favourite if pushed.
