Looking Back: February 2022 Wrap Up

February wasn’t my best reading month, and I can’t really blame it for having less days that the other months. After being sporadically busy at work for the past two years, my industry has kicked into high gear. Companies are moving out of the pandemic and suddenly need office furniture. It’s been stressful and busy and at the end of the work day I’m almost too tired to focus on reading. So my reading has suffered, unfortunately, and I was only able to post seven reviews this month, far short of the review copies I was supposed to read. BUT in terms of quality, nothing I read this month was below three and a half stars, so I have to consider it a win. Here are the books I read and reviewed, and my reviews are linked if you’re interested:

The Great Witch of Brittany by Louisa Morgan

Bluebird by Ciel Pierlot

Sundial by Catriona Ward

Stars and Bones by Gareth L. Powell

Sisters of the Forsaken Stars by Lina Rather

Good Neighbors by Stephanie Burgis

The Paradox Hotel by Rob Hart

Have you read any of these books? What was your favorite February read?

Well, you’ve managed to get me to read Stars and Bones, but I’m not convinced I’ll like it as much as you did. Which is okay! Better is that you seem to have had a pretty good reading February, quality-wise. Hope March is at least as good! And I hope that work calms down soon!!

You’re not the only one who was sort of “meh” about Stars and Bones. I guess it’s a good thing we don’t all love the same things:-)

  2. If you have to have a busy month that cuts back on your reading then it’s always a good thing for what you do read to be on the enjoyable side of the spectrum. Like you, I really enjoyed Sisters of the Forsaken Stars. My other two favorite reads for the month were probably You Sexy Thing (thank you!) and Cry Wolf. I hope your work transitions into a workable rhythm that lets you read as much as you’d like (or as close as you can given the need to work), and that the enjoyment factor is always there.

Work definitely is up and down when it comes to being busy. Hopefully it will spiral to the “down” position soon:-)
