Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
My hubby is off to Hawaii soon to shoot birds (with his camera!), so I imagine in a couple of weeks I’ll have some cool photos to share. Meanwhile I get a week and a half off cooking dinner every night! Lol. The Southern California weather is finally cooling down, I’m so happy. Although we are still in fire season here, and there are many areas in Central and Northern California struggling with them right now. Please take care if you are near the fires:-(
Upcoming reviews:
I’ve finished The Bone Ship’s Wake and I’m gutted. This series is simply amazing, and I’ve grown to love the characters so much. I have no idea what I’m going to say in my review, I mean any words I come up with won’t do it justice, but check back tomorrow for some gushing! I’m also reading From the Neck Up and I hope to finished it and get a review up later in the week.
Upcoming reads:
I just started Summer Sons and I’m already hooked. I’m also hoping to knock out a couple of other books for next week, A Spindle Splintered and Slewfoot.
Other posts:
It’s a very busy week. I may try to pull together a Top Ten list this week, since it’s a Top Ten Freebie. Look for three new books I’m excited about on Future Fiction, The Friday Face-Off is “Halloween Read,” and October 1st is Friday so check back to see What’s On My Plate. Oh, and I’ve decided to start doing monthly wrap-ups, something I’ve never done before, so stop by on Thursday for my September Wrap Up😀
In case you missed:
Human Tenderloin by Craig Wallwork – Review 4/5 stars
Scales & Sensibility by Stephanie Burgis – Review 4/5 stars

I should probably read Spindle Splintered this week too, hopefully it’s a good one, though retellings are very hit-or-miss for me. I’ve heard great things about the last Tide Child one, and can’t wait to see your review! Also, I’ve never heard of a black phoebe, so just tell me how it tastes in stew, kay? 😉
LOL don’t touch the Black Phoebe!
It looks like you’re going to have a fabulous reading week! The black phoebe is SO cute!

Thank you Priscilla:-)
I can’t wait to read your review of Bone Ship’s Wake: “gutted” is indeed the perfect description for the way one might feel at the end of this amazing saga, and I know what you mean when you say that it’s hard to find the right words to describe your frame of mind…
Until tomorrow, then! 🙂

Hawaii is so beautiful! Well I’ll have about a month of not cooking with the kitchen out of commission soon. lol I’m relishing the cooler weather and feeling more energetic and completing more projects.

Oh yes, enjoy those weeks of not cooking, I’m jealous:-)
You’ve been fortunate finding some really great reads lately. I hope that continues. And the phoebe is absolutely gorgeous. I love the pose your husband coaxed it into with its head looking over its shoulder. 🙂
It does look posed, right? Thanks Todd:-)
I can’t wait to see his pictures! And it must be such a relief to have a cooler weather!
The weather is so nice right now! I miss wearing hoodies:-)

I read a chapter of the Brom and it’s good!
Very envious of your hubby’s upcoming trip. I hope he has a wonderful time and gets some great shots for his portfolio. Yay for getting to A Spindle Splintered this week. I’m so excited for that one. I also really need to start the first Bone Ships book. I’ve had that on my radar ever since your review and I’m sure the series will become a must read as soon as I read your review of the finale. 🙂
I can’t wait to see what you make of A Spindle Splintered.
And, I’m hoping to read some good creepy books this forthcoming month.
