The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
This week’s theme: Favorite thriller
I was so happy to discover that one of my favorite sci-fi thrillers, Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty, has a bunch of new covers since the last time I checked. I’ve always wanted to use this book for a Friday Face-Off, and this prompt is perfect. I’m linking my review above, so check it out if you’re curious, but man I loved this book so much! And the covers are really good, take a look:
Orbit Books edition 2017 | Russian edition 2018
U.S. Kindle edition 2018 | Vietnamese edition 2019
Turkish edition 2019 | German edition 2018
Hungarian edition 2018 | Chinese edition 2018
Korean edition 2019 | Italian edition 2019
I think for my favorite I’m sticking with the familiar, my copy is the US Orbit edition, so even though it’s very simple, I think it works well with the story. I also really like the Chinese edition!
I like the Orbit edition, too. I haven’t read this one, but it looks intriguing!

It’s sooo good!
I like the US one most but I also like the German one as well.
I like that one too:-)
Wow, this has a bunch of covers. My favorite is the Chinese edition. And as simple and generic as it is, I also like the Turkish edition.
There’s something about that Chinese cover, right?
Some of those covers are very different…lol. 🙂
Ha ha I agree, there are a couple of strange ones.
Yours is my favorite too!
Great minds!
Yep – we’re defo on the same page here because that is my favourite too. Although, there are some other very good covers for this book.
Lynn 😀
I thought there were quite a few good ones:-)
Ooh Six Wakes! I didn’t know about all these covers! I like that one the best too but some of these are wild!

Ooh, I used this book for a past FF, and I think I chose the German as my fave. But a lot of these are good!
