This week’s theme: A book with “murder” in the title.
I love these “title” prompts, they’re so much fun! This week we’re looking at the word “murder” and there are a lot of books to choose from. I’m picking The Murders of Molly Southbourne by Tade Thompson, a creepy, bloody novella that I really enjoyed. I found four different covers, let’s take a look:
Tor.com 2017 edition | French 2019 edition
Catalan 2019 edition | Hungarian 2021 edition
First, I love how all of these stuck to the same color scheme. They look so good together, right? I do love the Catalan edition, it looks like a graphic novel. I’ve always been a little weirded out by the Tor.com edition showing Molly with a bloody nose. Yuck. So for a favorite, I’m choosing the French edition. I love how simple it is, but it also feels ominous to me.
Nothing says “murder” as that abundance of blood-red color! 😀

It’s a tough choice but I’m going with the Hungarian edition.
Great book pick this week!
The French edition is the one I like the most. I love that it’s kinda artsy and mysterious looking.
For me it’s a toss up between the two you chose. I think the Tor.com version smacks you in the face the most, so I like that. But I also really like the design of the French edition.
Yay, we chose the same book! I also love that all the covers stuck to the same color scheme. My favorite is the Catalan, because like you said, it looks like a graphic novel.
Think I like the French one too, the Hungarian one is cool as well though.

I love this choice of book for the theme and the striking colours that have been adhered to for all the covers – I do love the Catalan for the reason you mentioned.
