The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
This week’s theme: Hood
This week I decided to go with a series: Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell. I’ve only read the first two books, but it’s a series I definitely would like to finish at some point. I’ve chosen to use the U.S. covers by Orbit, which is where I’ve found the “hood” for this prompt. I actually prefer the Hot Key UK covers, but these Orbit covers are also pretty cool when you put them all together like this.
I love it when publishers keep a constant cover theme throughout a series, and these are quite impressive!

Me too, Orbit is very good about their cover consistency:-)
I loved seeing all these covers together too! There’s something so good about a series with similar covers!
Yes I agree! The rainbow colors really look good together:-)
I do like seeing all the covers together. I actually have a fave, it’s the black-and-white cover because it looks likes it’s from another era.

I think you’re right, that black and white cover definitely looks more historical:-)
I’m always drawn to blue covers the most so naturally that is gonna be my favorite but I also love the black one!

I love blue too, I’m always surprised by how many blue books I share on my blog:-)
They’re so similar I can’t pick a favorite, either, but it is interesting seeing the entire series laid out like that. It’s not one I’ve read yet, or anything by the author.
It’s a very lively and funny fantasy series. I loved the first book especially.
That series was perfect for this week’s topic!
Thanks Sophie!
These look good together, I agree! Though I like the UK more, seem more fun this reminds me, I need to continue with this series!
The first two books were so good, I’m disappointed I didn’t keep reading it…
I loved the first two books in this series too and I need to get to the rest of the series asap.

It’s hard when you don’t stay on top of it, right?
They do look good together! I love it when series change the color theme for each book 🙂

I do too, now I just need to finish this:-)
I totally forgot this series had a hood on the cover! Probably because I actually prefer the UK covers, which do NOT have hoods, unfortunately. xD I definitely need to pick this series up, though. I’ve heard it’s really good!
Great pick for this week – and a series I have read and enjoyed. woot
I love seeing all the covers together – they look so good.
