This week’s theme: A book that gives you “grabby hands.”
I’m doing another “head to head” this week, since the book I wanted to feature only has two covers at the moment. The Forever Sea by Joshua Phillip Johnson is a review book I wish I had a physical copy of, I just love the cover so much. In fact, I love the UK cover JUST as much! So for me, there isn’t a winner this week, just two beautiful covers that both do a great job of capturing this unique story.
DAW Books (U.S.) edition, 2021. I adore this cover! The story takes place on a sea made of plants and flowers, and ships sail across the top with magic. This cover really shows that element so well.
Titan Books (UK) edition, 2021. And another beautiful cover! I love that one of the main characters, Kindred, is looking out over the sea toward the ship, and I love the up close detailed sea grass in the foreground.
Both covers are so pretty! I like the US version better because it’s just so weird to see a ship in a field of flowers.:-)

How does one choose though? Both covers are really beautiful and I love the colors of the two covers as well!

The ship traveling over that seas of grass says “adventure!” like nothing else… 🙂

It’s no contest for me this week – that US cover is absolutely stunning and so very unusual:)).
They’re both so beautiful!

I love how they chose completely different perspectives, and both look great, but I do tend to lean just slightly towards the US version.
Gosh, this book totally won the book cover lottery, both are SO damn gorgeous.
Well, it may have only a couple of covers but they are both outstanding – I love both. Really difficult to choose and I keep going back and forth trying to choose a favourite – they’re both so good for completely different reasons, but, maybe the Titan is winning out for me for the moment.
