Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
California is finally opening up the vaccine to my age group starting April 1st, I’m very excited, although I’ve heard it’s hard to get an appointment, but at least I’ll be able to try. Otherwise, things are status quo and there’s nothing new to report.
Upcoming reviews:
I may only get one review up this week, we’ll see how it goes. For sure, tomorrow I’ll be posting my review of Birds of Paradise by Oliver K. Langmead. I really loved this book, it’s a little on the odd side but has so much beautiful imagery it gave me goosebumps. I may try to finish up The Lost Village and possibly get a review up Saturday, but at this point I want to start on my April pile. I also read The Album of Dr. Moreau by Daryl Gregory last week and LOVED it. I won’t be posting a review until closer to the release date (May) but I’m going to be doing an interview with the author and I needed to read it early. Gregory fans will love this too, and if you are looking for a laugh-out-loud funny story with some serious undercurrents, you won’t want to miss this.
Upcoming reads:
I’ve just started Titan Song by Dan Stout. This series is so good! If you like the urban fantasy/detective story vibe, you’ll love this too. Right after that, I’m diving into Whisper Down the Lane by Clay McLeod Chapman, so it should be a fun reading week!
The usual memes…
It’s a busy week with a new month coming up! On Tuesday, I’m very excited to share my Most Anticipated Books for the 2nd Quarter, on Wednesday is Future Fiction. I spotted a couple of cover reveals last week so stop by and see what they are! Thursday is April 1st which means it’s time for What’s On My Plate, where I’ll share my reading plans for April, and the Friday Face-Off is “train.”
In case you missed…
Did you miss any of my posts last week?

As usual the pic is so beautiful!! And I am glad you enjoyed The Album of Dr. Moreau! That book seems intriguing and I will wait for your review!!
Thanks Susy!
When prose gives you goosebumps, that’s the sign of a talented author! I’m looking forward to your review of Langmead’s book!

It was so good, Priscilla. I’m hoping more people give his books a try.
Considering the cover it’s great to hear Birds of Paradise has some beautiful imagery. And speaking of beautiful imagery and birds of prey (instead of paradise), great shot of the hawk. I don’t have many of those, but I love watching those birds.
Thanks Todd! I wish I knew what kind of hawk this is. I need to ask my husband:-)
I have gotten behind on those Titan books, I liked the first one and have the second one so not sure why I didn’t read it last year except to many books…lol.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Stormi
Too many books, the story of my life, lol.
I’m also reading Titan Song and it sucked me right into the story. I hope you can get your vaccine scheduled. I found if you keep checking for appts you can get scheduled.

I know there are lots of options for vaccines, I think it just requires some diligence:-)
I hope to start Whisper Down the Lane this week too! Here’s hoping we both enjoy. 🙂
I hope we do!
I hope you’ll be able to get vaccinated soon, Tammy! In Belgium it’s going at a snail’s pace so it’s not gonna be my turn anytime soon. I’m looking forward to your upcoming posts!

I’m not holding my breath, but I will definitely start trying to get an appointment:-)
Glad to hear that your state is opening up your age group for vaccines. I hope you’ll be able to get one soon. I’m also really looking forward to your review of Birds of Paradise. It sounds like a gem of a read.
It was so good, I want more people to read Oliver Langmead’s books!
Ooh I didn’t even know Titan Song is coming out soon, I have totally been out of the loop since falling behind on book two. I need to get on that!
It’s hard to keep up, right? 😉
Congrats on being vaccine eligible! I think I’ll be reading The Galaxy, and the Ground Within this week.

Oooh hope you enjoy it!
Wonderful picture. Such talent. I’m really curious about the Dr. Moreau book as I just saw it in a Tor newsletter today. Can’t wait to see your review!
Thanks Barb. Dr. Moreau was a blast! So funny but mixed with a detective story and a little horror.
I would love to read the Dan Stout books and I’m waiting to see if they become available either digitally or for audio – fingers crossed.

I hope they become available! Such a fun and unique series:-)
I’ll need to check out your interview with the author of the Dr. Moreau book, and I’m definitely eager for your review in May. Fingers crossed you can get an appointment for a vaccination soon!

I managed to get a vaccine appointment finally (first jab this past week), and my advice would be to create an online account with CVS and just leave a tab open on their zip code appointment search page and refresh whenever you think about it. I hope you’re able to get one soon; I think California has gotten much better in the past couple of weeks. I was so mad when Newsom announced the widening for April 1 since I’m 1C and had such a hard time. But just don’t bother trying to nab the county/state appointments lol.
I missed your review of All the Murmuring Bones, so off to read that to see how our reading experiences vary.
